hmmm, what Carrera is not a parts bin special??? A GTS was created as a parts bin special with a turbo body and some highly picked Carrera S options and slightly different turbos…same engine though. An S has the same parts as the Carrera just different turbos. So I guess unless you’re in Turbo S or GT2/GT3 RS it’s all just parts bin specials.
if you own or have owned one then by all means apply an opinion but I’m quite happy with my parts bin special as I’m sure you are with your parts bin special.

Any tips/tricks to getting cellular data via Google SIM in a 991.2 T? I don't even know where to pop the SIM in, lol, but I've used a Google SIM abroad. Ah those were the days back in 2019.

Pic Heavy!!!
Lift up the "tray", insert, smile... Porsche warns you about using an adapter with a microSIM, but I've had zero issues. Knocking on wood...
Then just verify things are working.
Separately, this one is for the fine gentleman who was pissed about the young lady scratching his A Pillar at Sonic... This will be my second 'Safelite To The Rescue' in this car (and had each windshield patched a couple times in between0 in just over 3 years. Pay to Play!
If the pics aren't worth thousands of words, hit me up. Good luck!

Just curious - what is the data connection good for if we don't use google maps or porsche connect services? Honest question - I'm wondering if there some coolness I'm missing out on :-)

^^^ For you I'd say nothing missing at all if you don't use the Porsche Connect stuff. That is mostly what I do, and the wifi hotspot given the external antenna that my passengers appreciate when they are along for the ride. It will also use the sim's data, vice that of the phone, when you jack-in for Apple CarPlay/if you jack-in for Apple CarPlay.

Just bought this 2019 GT Silver CPO 911 T with 4500 miles on it from a Boston-area Porsche dealer. Manual transmission and not a lot of options, which is exactly what I was looking for.
It has the Carrera T package, with the GT Silver interior and Sport-Tex seats, metal sunroof, Bi-Xenon headlights, heated seats (mandatory in the Northeast), chrono package, and that's about it. I would have probably spec'd it like this new, although I might have added the RAS, but not a deal-breaker either way. Not a lot of these Ts out there so close to what I wanted, so I jumped on it.
As part of the deal, I traded in my 2015 911 S that I had owned only about a month. As a part-time, weekend driver that I'll never track, the S engine just wasn't that enjoyable .... unless I was going above 70mph, which isn't practical for my driving style. It's an amazing car, just not for me. Once I test drove the 911 T, I was hooked. Definitely a more engaging driving experience all around.
Anyway, excited to join the T club. I'll post more photos after I pick it up next week. (The photo shows the car just after the installation of Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06s. The original P-Zero summer tires could not handle these Arctic winter conditions.)
