The way it feels, the manual trans, the sounds it makes the overall package is just crazy capable. And I never drive it. On the street its just too capable to really experience it. Take it to 9K in second gear and you are well over 80MPH. It also attracts a lot of attention with that wing. People take pictures and gather around it when its parked. I just personally don't like the attention. As a track car - my previous 2016 GT3 was amazing. I've owned quite a few Porsche Track only / Race cars and the GT3 right off the showroom floor is amazing. I never took the 2018 GT3 to the track but I have no doubt it was equally as good or better. If my 2018 had been the touring model I may have kept it, but after 6 months of ownership I only put 600 miles on it with 200 of them being one trip. So I traded it on my new T.

The low end torque on these makes it fun in the lower range where the NA motors need to clear 5-6K to start to get fun. It's just really fun to jump into and go places. The handling is fantastic ( I have Rear Wheel Steering) the noises are a solid B+ at this point. I love the way it shifts - very close to GT3 manual feel. It attracts way less attention. So early days - I'll update in a couple of weeks, but so far I love the potential of this car a lot.
.
I had a 997.2 GT3 and also sold it for many of the reasons you stated. This time around I'm being really honest about how I use a 911 which is why the T appeals to me as much as it does.

Surge - Looks like a nice build. Why does it show your base price at $116K instead of $102k ?

You should think hard about the carbon buckets. I've had them in 2 cars. I find them comfortable but getting in and out of the car becomes an *** pain. Especially if you park somewhere where you can't open the door all the way. They are cool though.

Thanks, appreciate the comments. I did test drive a T with buckets, and loved them... I used to own a Lotus, so the ingress/egress challenges are not new and add to the experience

This is the Canadian configurator. Base price is C$116k = US$89k )

I love my buckets, especially with the houndstooth inserts. I use my arms to push up during egress so not for larger girth individuals. Trying to be helpful, not offensive.
I have side bluster protectors I need to install.

My Cayenne GTS had and aluminum fuel cap so swapped with the T, better fitting.
Also, added this interior, too much?
1968 rear deck lid badge, used dremel tool to remove pins, then a very thin double sided tape too attach.

Tgavem - I love the seat Inserts. Are those factory? I had them in my 911-50, classic is never too much.....the 911T on the dash though...it may be a little much for me, but if you like it run with it.

aftermarket, http://www.exclusiveoption.com/. Just as nice as factory, and a lot lower cost but still $$$$$$

but FYI, careful removing passenger seat cushin as it is attached to weight sensor (US cars) for passenger airbag with some very cheap and fragile plastic hooks.

There is a much smaller version of this logo available, which is what the original T had on the dashboard. I used the smaller version for my dashboard, and the large one for the engine cover.

You pay a premium for it! Not free. Cheaper to buy them from Suncoast and DIY.

Could one add rear seats to an LWB car since the mounting nuts would likely all be there?

Yes, there are shops that will do it. I know one in the UK which has done many 997 GT3 rear seat installs. Dealers won’t do it for liability reasons. The main issue is access, since the LWBs don’t recline, I’m not sure how much room there is to get into the back.

Can someone with LWBs post a photo with the seat all the way forward?

Not much space to get past the fixed LWB seats.

I can confirm that the mounting nuts are there even if you opted for the rear seats delete option, though the padding under the carpet (around the drivetrain tunnel) is different which means you have to carve out a rather big/deep hole in order to install the seatbelt locks. Also you may want to check whether there are insurance / registration issues if you retrofit the rear seats: over here in Germany the cars without rear seats are registered as 2-seaters.

Great info. I wish the lwb seats folded like the prior version. These cost more as an option and are less versatile. I guess that makes them "special"

Probably better to order the car with regular seats and swap the driver side for an lwb, then you can access the back on the pass side.
