1. ⁃ dumpifs and mkxfs from QNX SDP / OpenQNX. Build these from source on your linux machine to ensure proper compatibility. (available at https://github.com/ibreakifix/PorschePCMStuff pre-built for Ubuntu 19.04 x64)
2. ⁃ mkxfs attributes file from https://github.com/ibreakifix/PorschePCMStuff

Just getting back to this now - life intervened. I've validated that yes, you can connect via the car's WiFi hotspot. I've started up an alternate telnetd on the MMC and it works as advertised. I have not yet built things and hacked it, yet. As to connection via UART, yes, you need to remove the head unit - apparently there are 4 screws and it's pretty easy. Haven't looked at that yet.

Any ideas how to go about it?

Who managed to unpack? I tried some versions of Ubuntu 19.10 and 19.04, and I could not unpack my ifs-root.ifs
Maybe someone can tell me which version of Linux to do this with ?Maybe someone can help dump my file, I was very decent.

i have just read (sorry lot of message on this thread to read ;-)) that informations on step 5 have been removed from by chris2 to avoid bad use. sad to have missed those informations :-/ will try to understand by myself but not sure to be able. but anyway thanks for sharing. will post if i am allowed to ask specific questions on subject ;-)

Who knows how to modify the excellent work by chris2 to fully unpack ifs-root.ifs and also completely package it with all files ... not just part of stage2....
I am not only interested in modifying MIBRoot but also other files I want to modify
