Default I Don't Know Jack! Floor Jacks..

What are your recommendations for a low profile floor jack, sufficiently low to get under a 991?

If it's only for occasional use, i.e. changing out summer/winter tires, I'd recommend Harbor Freight 1.5 ton aluminum racing jack for ~ $60.

I ordered one yesterday from Costco in Canada
Arcan 3 Ton aluminum/steel
I ordered it because of the lighter weight (58lbs) and warranty/return policy. For the security of a 3 Ton jack, it was much cheaper than competing jacks on Amazon.

If you want to raise the rear of the car by lifting under the center rear cross member, you may have to first lift one of the rear wheels and put a block under it before sliding the jack under the cross member. Again, it will depend on your jack. The good news is the 991 side jack points will pose little problems to access and lift the vehicle.
The next question is what jack stands are you going to use? I spent way more time looking at those. I chose the Esco aluminum jack stands. They were slightly more expensive, but they are a joy to use. I have the less expensive, standard height 13" model. Perfect, solid performer.

By far, the easiest way to put a 991 up in the air is Jackpoint jack stands. They allow you lift the car at the correct points on the car and keep the jack stands there at the same time with the open side design.

Are there any good videos or instructions on how to jack up the 991 911?

I have put all manner of car up on sketchy jackstands from the big auto parts stores ... those Jackpoint jack stands are absolutely brilliant! If only they were in stock ...

Low profile and long reach. I have this one and am very pleased.

I use a low profile racing jack, 2-3 ton, with jack stands. No need to spend a fortune. Good one can be had for around $130.

Make sure you also use a high quality jack pad with a center positioning bolt. I'm using Rennline. The days of the old used hockey puck are over.

Why not? I mean... I know it's not ideal... and learned very quickly that you can't stack them... but using one puck to jack up the car or fit a regular jack stand did the trick on my 981 for changing wheels and brakes.

I looked at the Jackpoint jack stands and think they are probably perfect for the 911 but I wanted to also use them on the Macan and not sure they would be tall enough.
I placed and order for these last week, a bit more flexible in height, permanently out of stock so will see how long they take to get here...https://safejacks.com/products/2-pac...d-by-safe-jack

I have 2 Harbor Freight floor jacks and 4 Jackpoint Jackstands. With adaptors from Jackpoint, I use this setup on my 991, S550 and the wife's A6.
I still take the Tundra to the dealer to change from summer to winter tires/wheels since the extra 4 fit in the bed and they charge $15 as a "tire rotation". I throw in an oil change while waiting and the truck is set for the year with no effort on my part. Besides, those 20" Tundra wheels are heavy!
Very pleased.
