According to some folks on RL, the only problem with the 991.2 is the sound. And, apparently, it's a persistent one.
Otherwise, to this tone-deaf person the 991.2 is probably just as reliable (or not reliable depending on your perspective) as a 991.1

Rattles, rattles and rattles. Drivers side door card being replaced with new panel. Drivers side seatbelt mechanism being replaced. Another rattle in the roof when the sun shade is in the full open position is being diagnosed.
4k miles.

About 18 months, 15,475 miles by MY CAR app, many summer Track days and 2 winter SnowCross days at Road America with zero problems.
I think one recall for expansion tank taken care of when in for oil chnage.
The thing is a tank!-Richard

My 991.2 Base Carrera is a little bit more than one (1) year old and it has almost 10.000 kilometers. Problems ?
A lot of rattles even when the car was new. I had to take it to the dealer and they changed the rear seat belts because they were making a lot of noise.... maybe something was loose.
I'm currently discussing with my dealer about a noise (bang) that shouldn't be there.
Dealer is telling me that the noise is coming from a valve in the AC unit and that new cars also have the same noise. If you ask me, this a BS explanation. I've never heard a car with this kind of noise being explained as a normal thing.
Beside that..... love the car. Sound not an issue for me.

My car does have some little rattles. I only care about the cowl shake I get now and then, makes the window knock. Hasn't changed since i bought the car and put 12.5K on it. But I use my car hard and it only becomes any kind of annoying if I'm driving on really crap pavement.

6 months, 2,300 miles. No issues. Just a couple personal maintenance and preference items:
- Wheel alignment done at 1,000 miles, found to be not in factory spec.
- Buffeting with both windows down. Solved with DIY rubber spoilers.
- Harsh and poor clarity Bose tweeters. Solved with aftermarket tweeters.
