GTS?

My GTS does this too and I chalked it up to be "lesser sound deadening". Thought about taking it to the dealer but the car runs perfectly.

Default 991.2 turbo problems

i have a brand new 2018 c4. Just drove it 4200 miles home. Car is fantastic but does have a problem with the turbo air gate valves not opening fast enough while in the first 20-30 minutes of operation. At 2000-2500rpm when you rapidly accelerate, the car starts to rumble like its hitting a hwy warning strip. After 30 minutes the car behaves flawlessly. I do have a Giac tune...but it appears to be unrelated. Dealer (and nick Murray) confirms there are quite a few cases of this. Anybody else got more lowdown? I am told by my dealer Porsche will replace the turbo air gates under warranty

You might consider a service visit to the dealer for your nearly new c4. Nothing like documenting the issue at the time and mileage and what-not to get your place in line for any future warranty recall campaign.

Good advice.

You drove it 4,200 miles home?! Where do you live?!

2017 C2, delivered Nov 2016, 9500 miles, and all is nearly perfect. I changed out my tweeters, dash trim pieces, added a frunk and hood liner, and no squeaking from my changes. The only issue is with my PCM switching on the music without my intervention, but think it could be related to a bad connection with my iPod. After checking the connections, I haven’t had another issue.

Had a couple of problems with my previous 991.2 Base (already posted....).

With my new 991.2 Cabrio, I had a failed AC compressor (completely locked) the same day the car was delivered to me. I drove it for 1 hour and had to return to the local dealer for a fix.

991.2 GTS Targa, 800 miles in about 3 weeks. A/C hasn't worked since day 1. Have a service appointment next week to get it fixed. Baffles me that a brand new car could have a faulty A/C. But everything else has been great and the car puts a big fat smile on my face every day. Luckily it's been pretty cool here in NorCal since I got the car, so the lack of A/C hasn't been too much of an inconvenience.

Same problem I had with mine. The AC compressor was completely locked. I will see if tomorrow I can post a video that my dealer send showing how the compresoor didn’t turn. Mybdealer fixed the problem the same day I received my new car. They had to tkae the compresor out from another car that was in the showroom....

Hey folks. Been shopping for a newer 911, and just doing my homework (combined with applying my own personal desires for a "drivers" car,.. ie M/T)...

Has anyone with a 991.2 GTS had the problem of the turbos "backing off" up at the 6k rev range? ... It is described in this video (at the mark of 10 min, 40 seconds into the video).

I also own a 958 Cayenne Turbo (in addition to our 964T in my avatar), and thus follow those threads as well,... and this issue is reported by many owners over there too (958.2 bi-turbo owners).

My wife & I drove the 2017 991.2 GTS with PDK for 2 full days on the wonderful German roads (twisties & autobahn), and never experienced this turbo "backoff",... so just wondering if it is a intermittent issue with only "some" of the GTS.
And is it only PDK, or has anyone with a M/T experienced this as well?

Below is the link to the youtube video... fast forward to 10min 40sec ...
Thanks,
=Steve

Default 991.2

I have had a couple of issues with my 2017 911S. On 2 occasions while driving there was absolutely no turbo boot pressure. After making a stop for a meal, the car functioned normally. I took it to the dealer and they could not find any problem.
I had no warning or messages. Now a year later I have the same exact problem, and I just read that this car has a 16PSI boost, and I will verify but it seems to me I do not get over 9 and I rev this baby to the redline.
The other problem I have is an intermittent one with the spoiler. When I go around a left or right hand sweeper or sometimes over a rough patch of road surface coming out of a corner the spoiler deploys fully and does not go down until I come to a stop.
Again the dealer could not duplicate this event. Under normal conditions it deploys at 127 KM/HR and retreats at 85 KM/HR. Has anyone experienced these conditions? Thanks for any input
I am bringing the car back to the dealer next week, but the tech seems to think this is not a problem.
