To the moderators,
Respectfully, I think that moderators have a hard job and do it commendably. I don't understand ,however, why a perfectly good thread (992 thread until recently) gets closed because one or two bad actors can't control themselves. It's like being locked in a room with preschool children. Why can't those individuals be suspended for a certain length of time instead of "punishing" the rest of us. The 991 Forum has become so tiresome. So many threads get hijacked by the same individuals to the same topic.
Agree, I sent the moderator Mark in Baltimore a message pretty much stating the same. Deal with the problems and dont kick the ball down the street. The drama will continue in other threads obviously. Closing a thread doesnt help anything. Small easy solution for an issue that will continue later today.
I suggest going on page 1 and first post of the 992 thread and hit report thread. Message open thread back up. Maybe another moderator sees things differently.
I apologized earlier and I've placed a couple people on ignore. Can still see where they've posted and occasionally click to see and they still make dumb comments. I apologize again and assure I won't be the problem moving forward. Sorry for being a part of the problem!
I like to use automotive forums to actually learn something about the car I am passionate about at the time. Way too many threads go sideways in the 991 forum very quickly because of several "sexual intellectuals". It is very obvious who these are.
I would have preferred that the thread be cleaned up (the fighting posts deleted) and the thread remain open. It's about the 992, after all - which is of great interest to many of us (in the absence of a 992 section).
I am a moderator on an investment board, and we have the ability to remove posts. We do that a lot. We also can ban posters for a period of time or forever based on IP address. Maybe this forum needs a software upgrade in order to do that?
I enjoyed reading the 992 forum until it was hijacked.

Its possible here, its just the moderators dont want to put the time into moderating. They are volunteer positions and they have everyday life things to do. If thats the case, I personally wouldnt take on the role.
Since it seems that people enjoy pushing each others buttons at largely the determent of the thread and overall community, perhaps the threads should be split.
I'm not that interested in 991.1 modification, releases, issues, etc because largely its irrelevant to my car and visa versa. It doesn't necessarily address the 992 thread since there's nowhere for this to be created appropriately, but I think a lot of this could be avoided if many of these threads were split by .1 & .2.
Relevant and useful information would be much easier to find and the oppositional viewpoints would perhaps be contained to their respective forums.

Just a thought!
Oh, we went down that road a long time ago. Moderators said NO WAY.
