Wonder if it's possible to add an X51 Powerkit to it and then you'd have something. (But I suppose it still lacks the hips/WB of a GTS or C4S.)

Radio delete, check
Rear seats delete, check
Insulation reduction, check.
The poor bastards in Stuttgart are trying to pump every last vacuum note into the car.
Drop the turbos, double the sound symposers and call me.

Fill my glass with that Kool-Aid! I really like it.
I just hope they don't limit the numbers. They fixed some of the things I didn't like about the base carrera - tall gearing and no LSD. And they added LWB seats which are only available in the GT cars. And no wart on the dashboard.
Say what you want but Porsche does know their customers.

Guess I'm a sucker for marketing cause this sounds like an awesome package. If an NA engine was still an option I'd be a buyer.....

Reminds me of the movie Minority Report with all the self driving cars bearing Audi and Mercedes badges.
At that point, why bother paying for a Mercedes/Audi/Porsche if you don’t participate in the drive? Just get a cheap reliable Toyota and call it a day.
Already, the only current Porsches that still interest me are the true GT cars and the Boxster Spyder. All the other models are too clinical and boring, to be worth the price Porsches asks. Turbos sap the fun and involvement.
Same issue for Mercedes and BMW, there isn’t a single drivers car that they still produce.

In my opinion, this move does several things.
1) It dilutes the exclusivity and uniqueness of previously high end and mostly GT car features. LWBS, cloth door loops, rear seat delete, radio delete, etc. Not good branding on Porsche's part IMO. Okay if it's the highest end model before GT such as the GTS or GT4/Spyder in the 981 line or R/Spyder in the 987 line. But why offer these on the low-end Carrera when the higher priced cars don't get them (S, GTS)
2) There's no way they could put a good engine in this car. Then it would be way better than an S or even the GTS with all of the other bits and bobs. Given it's a turbo, a quick tune or a even a more involved turbo replacement and ecu tune would make this car better than the GTS all day long IMO. I didn't check but are PCCBs an option on this one?
I don't like the way Porsche is headed, but at least this is in the sports car line. How many times have you been to the dealer to be stuck behind a line of Cayenne / Macans all day long? Those are great cars for what they are, but they should belong to another brand. One for sports cars and one for consumer cars but that's a different topic.

Its not any kind of a bargain. As with all P cars, check a few options boxes and it will be $120K car-$130K here in CA after taxes and fees. I guess it will be a good car to tour cross country-very quiet with the radio delete and turbocharged motor

Can we even get an allocation for this car?

And let’s address that for a second.. they call the lesser car the Touring, when just a month ago they came out with a better car and called it just the Touring Package? .. where is the great German planning here?.. these aren’t exactly last minute naming decisions.

I am so happy that it has the turbo engine. My wife would murder me if I ordered this tomorrow. Alas, I'm off the hook!

Too late. This should of happened with the 991.1 Carrera before introducing the turbo engines. That would of been a keeper.
