While I'm asking like a newb, what about the trans? For the 992 Turbo S Porsche upgraded the PDK to handle the increased power the new S makes, so what internal differences are there between the 991.2 PDK in a Turbo, a Turbo S and a GT2RS?
@SamboTT@ByDesign is the best source for those questions.

Hey guys,

First of all, those hood shocks are the business! Ha ha

In regards to those internal engine differences Thicc, 991.1 cars are all the same. Same with the 991.2 cars they are updated but the same in that generation. There were many updates made at this point. Bottom end is pretty much the same, but you have different heads and fuel system. Valves are different flow and design is a little bit improved along the fueling system this creates more efficiency and effectively more power capacity. I’ve never really looked very deep into it, but I’m pretty positive GT2RS is the same as the 991.2 TT as far as the engine internals like the 997 and 996 cars.

As far as the turbo chargers and ancillary items like intercoolers and everything, not adaptable. The only way to switch that over would be to do the entire set up. That being said, Stage5 turbo chargers will perform this by far with a much less cost and a better overall aftermarket upgraded package. I can look for the video but the car that did the GT2RS set up was beat by a Stage4 car of our years ago. It was on DragTimes. It was just a regular Stage4 which we’ve done over 600 of.

As far as the transmission goes, they are pretty much the same with the exception of a few sensors and the valve body being superseded to an up-to-date model, which can be interchanged. Some different components of course on the GT2RS being 2WD. Hope this helps

Not 100% sure they will work on the 991, but this is what I have on the 996:

It’s not because they are carbon fiber. They have a lifetime guarantee.

Alas, this is where we differ; save for two cars and a motorcycle, I have every car I bought since 1998, and will likely have them until I die...

Unless someone wants to by my M5...

You are contagious. I ordered my 2019 TTS knowing I would move to a 720 or Pista in 2 years. The mechanical gages, pdk, reliability, footprint, cabin comfort, shifter , etc surprised me. I must have fallen into the Alt Verse.

I wish that I had the garage space to replicate that!

@2fcknfst Thanks!! I'll give Rennline a ring and check to see if they're compatible with my 991.2. I would think it should be.

Never enough garage space. And with almost-enough space, you run into the situation where your Turbo is still blanketed and in winter hibernation in July.

First world problems for sure though.
