Should stock battery be kept on tender to maintain a healthy state or can it just be stored unattended ?

Needs a Tender full time or it will deep cycle and die.

I tend to agree to this, for street usage or high speed runs the impact would be negligible. I am all for going light, however to my big disappointment I have never seen a tangible impact on my laptimes, even in time attack, of removing both seats and having a lightweight battery and 19" Superforgiata wheels, that's supposed to be in the neighborhood of 140lbs + savings.

Other than my own datalogging, I use a good simulator called Lapsim, http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/conte...Tabs=55402507/
it has been around for a long time and works surprisingly well, you upload your GPS data from your best run, it draws for you your exact circuit configuration based on the GPS data, you add all your car parameters from engine to chassis and aero and then you can play around with every component and see the exact impact on time across the whole circuit. Weight removal of 140lbs gave me less than half a second improvement on a 3.5 mile race track, I doubt anyone can feel that especially on the street.

You are probably right. But psychologically it makes me feel good ... maybe that counts for something

Anyhow, I do feel I get a few more miles per gallon. That helps to justify the cost a little.

That's the same type of gain from many after market products.

Default What I did today

Took the car to Modern Aircooled for Soul Performance exhaust, IPE intake and tune. Can't wait until tomorrow when I pick it up.

The exhaust sounds very good under acceleration and at high rpms but there is a drone when simply cruising that I will have to get used to. I am sure I won't notice it after a while. The improvement in sound all other times is worth it. The mods Modern Aircooled did for me really woke up the car but I am not sure I like the PDK tuning from Cobb. I noticed a few times where it felt like the clutches were slipping. Not sure if that is normal but hoping for some feedback. I will be reaching out to Jordan to day to ask him about it. My only fear is that I may be damaging the tranny and they are so expensive I don't want to risk it. But probably I am just not used to the car yet. The improvement in acceleration and responsiveness was very noticeable. Almost like a different car. Very happy and much appreciative for Modern getting my car in and out so fast. Great guys over there. Both Harris, the main guy I talked to and Jordan met me when I picked it up and wanted to make sure I was happy.

If you loaded the PDK Update and you are not impressed then hook up your Cobb AP and go to the trouble shooting section and run PDK Relearn. It's like flossing. It will smooth out all the rough edges.
