@Dennis C looks amazing!!!

For all you guys with Ceramic coating...is it truly worth getting?

I only ask because I have full PPF on the front, car is always garaged, driven twice a week...and I still love to wax/polish by myself. (Consider it a zen moment away from the kids, even if I can't remove every swirl mark...haha).

I know the ceramic coating can help repel water, cut down on washing time, etc...but is the shine and gloss worth it over standard polishing?

Thanks!

I definitely find it to be worth the investment. I also find washing and detailing the car to be therapeutic, but I also enjoy how easy it is with ceramic coating. My car is also garaged, it has PPF on the front third, and it’s driven less than once per week. The glossy finish is truly amazing.

Thanks for the feedback! Hmmm, might consider it

There’s another thing to consider regarding ceramic coating since you like polishing and waxing cars. Ceramic coating isn’t something that you apply and then forget about it for a few years. It needs to be maintained properly if you want it to last. There are products that you have to use to keep it looking good and performing as expected. I like Adam’s Polishes, and their product is called Graphene Boost. There are plenty of other product choices, but my point is that ceramic coatings require maintenance.

It looks fantastic.

I see you went back to the OEM exhaust tips. Did you decide you liked those better than the Soul GT2 tips? I finally got mine fitted correctly to my new SpeedTech X-pipe system, but only after SpeedTech made a me set of custom outlet pipes that allowed them to be fitted properly.

I actually prefer the Soul tips, but I can’t get them to sit properly with my FVD Brombacher exhaust. It would likely require custom outlet pipes like you needed.

You're not alone. Even though Soul claims their GT2-style exhaust tips fit the 991.1 Turbos OEM exhausts, they didn't line up properly on it either without some grinding and cutting of the OEM outlets. The same was true for the SpeedTech X-Pipe, and the reason they didn't fit was exactly the same as OEM with the inner and outer pipes too far apart at the wrong angle. The problem was with the Soul tips, not either exhaust.

Amazingly enough, @John D II (owner of SpeedTech) offered to fabricate and send me a set of outlets that would fit the Soul GT2 tips if I sent them to him. I did, and this is how well they turned out.

Admittedly, I've been a bit amiss taking care of it lately. Today, though, scrubbed the tyres in, as well as a good scrub for the body.

I'm reminded that, this is one good looking car.

Thank you Sir; I just have to find some more time to keep it up... Not putting the 996 on the road this year because the passenger side turbo is hemorrhaging oil, so there should be no excuse for me....
