You never owned a Porsche with first-generation non-variable-deployment airbags (i.e. ‘90 to ‘98-ish).
The steering wheel needed to be about a mile from your chest so as to ‘save’ an unbelted 175-lbs male while only killing a few small belted-in females.
<sigh> Stupid federal regs.
I have, 993. I just have normal man arms and couldn't imagine driving with a steering wheel that close.
Yes, that's called a race car (I have a 996 Cup Car). What we are talking about is a street car... Do your shoes have a lift in them as well?
Pick any random shoe store from Payless to a Newbury Street Money Trap and I’ll bet you money that they haven’t a single pair of shoes that fit my feet. Since my best fitting footwear is handmade on lasts molded from my feet maybe next time I’ll add a lift.

You have now. The first-gen airbag Porsches had the wheel so “far away” that it was effectively impossible for “non-average” folks to have a driving position that was functionally different from this(*):
(*) From what I see this seating position (including cell phone) is now taught in Driver’s Ed.

My lipstick is a darker shade thank you very much. My heels are extra tall so I have to be farther back.

Went on our PCA Chapter Spring Rally! So fun! Really got to use the car as intended through some windy canyon roads. Also, how sweet is this 996? Repainted Lava Orange with all kinds of mods.
Finally cleared enough bench space so that I could disassemble the front cover so that I can take it to the body shop so that they can fix the crease, repaint, and re-PPF it.
