As I said, -5c is still shorts weather for me; -5f I would likely not leave the house.

I'll never forget the feeling of a brutally cold winter in Ontario. Weeks of -10c to -30c... The one day it got to 0c and I literally saw water steaming up from the ground in the wash bay and my body actually felt.... warmth. At 0c.

Nice thing about Colorado is, it could be -5F today and 60F tomorrow. It's not like the east where it's gray for weeks/months. It'd be unusual to go 3-4 days without sunshine. It might still be cold, but sunny. I lived in Whidbey Island WA for a year, that 90 days of drizzle about drove me nuts..

I was born in Alberta, parents always told me about the chinook effect. You get that in Colorado as well? Sounds fun TBH.
and yeah.. the gray... It's absolutely demoralizing.
