That's a bummer. Thanks for the info.

You can always swap to a 991.2 steering wheel, it's also a straight forward direct swap. Paddles work and I think you can even get the multi function to work if you wanted.

Yeah, I had looked into this and came to the same conclusions....went both routes. Installation was super easy.

My .1 wheel with stick on carbon paddles (still nice):

My .2 wheel: MUCH NICER!

True... And if the airbags interchanged, I might consider that. But with cost of a new wheel, airbag, and the needed 3rd party control module to get the MF stuff working correctly, it becomes a fairly significant investment for the upgrade.

That is sexy as hell though and I love the Alcantara....

The cost is a bit frustrating as I was able to get a custom Alcantara wheel for my 996 turbo for $600, no core required.

Nice! May I play with your money and suggest you buy the leather airbag? (it looks and feels SO much nicer).

The airbag you are using is from a Macan or some other base model Porsche variant. Compare your airbag pic with mine.

LOL. It seems there are certain things one guy notices and values that another doesn't. I don't notice any substantial difference personally, certainly not worth the hundreds more it would have cost me to get a blingier leather covered bag. Pics seem to accentuate the plasticy look of...plastics, lol. In person, it looks just fine and completely at home with the rest of the interior.

I also got my bag for a song...in a package deal offer with the 3RS wheel. The money I "saved" will go towards worthwhile upgrades like new turbo's or a tractive coil over setup.

BTW, how often do you sit around feeling your airbag? Ha ha. \m/

Finally got around to buying and putting on Zunsport grills. Should have done this a long time ago.

Before install, I cleaned and then very lightly dusted the rads with an automotive black paint to clean them up.

Install is easy (nice that you don't have to remove the bumper like the Rennline's). They certainly look way better than seeing knackered radiators.

Looks like it's now time to replace my PPF...

Yeah while not cheap, nothing about the 991 Turbo S is, lol.

I just think an upgraded, alcantara wheel makes a big difference in the look/experience of the interior. It's the main interface with the car. There was nothing wrong with the .1 wheel but this one looks and feels so much nicer. It's one of the few interior mods I feel is worth every penny. If I sell my like-new stock .1 wheel and airbag, I can also make a huge chunk of the money back.

My 996 Turbo also had a nice upgraded, alcantara wheel and IMO, it largely helped transform the interior feel of the 996.

May I suggest the leather fuse box cover too? Yours seems to be missing. Suncoast sells them for a reasonable $10k per side

Full leather interior needs leather airbag!! Your steering wheel is alcantara anyway so the leather airbag won't do that much. The only reason I noticed it is because I bought the one you had a while back for my .1 and it didn't match the one I had in the .2. At that point OCD set in... But you make a valid point, it is a stupid amount of money for a mundane part. We overpay for everything with these cars, one can get desensitized.

Ha ha, exactly.

Fuse cover is off for the COBB that was pulling logs. I do wish there was a cool cover that left the port exposed for a COBB cable!

So true and many here have their own priorities and tastes in mods.

Maybe I should get the airbag done in alcantara now... (kidding)
