Great driving and lap times Giorgios!!

Pdtp, Your car is turning to an absolute monster, that XR kit and custom exhaust deserves an open rear bumper with grills! Can't wait to see the performance on that thing

That's looking pretty sinister! Where's the work being done? Did you find a home for all of the removed parts?

Getting a little crazy but I guess needed to stay busy during this crazy times

Been working with the guys at Orbit. Their fab guy has done a remarkable job. wait until you see the next stuff. pretty cool.

Unfortunately I have done almost a 360 on many items do to availability of parts, etc. Finally bit the bullet and have a final plan in place and we are going full bore ahead. However this pretty much left me with tons and tons of extra parts. Currently working with two folks that might take most if not all. I might need to become a bodywork consultant on turbo conversions ha! Its good to see other people doing it as well. I think Mike is building two more.

How's your beast behaving?

I've joined VIR Club and have been pretty busy there, but not travelling to other tracks too much this year. The car/driver is highly tire dependent. I can rip on the Cup2R tires (1:56-1:57 easy) but the regular Cup2's just don't do it for me. Don't have enough grip or confidence, which means 2:00 laps. I'd be thrilled if I didn't need to spend $1100 a day for tires, but I'd say I brought this on myself.

On the flip side, I've committed to annual track insurance with OpenTrack. $12,100 for the year instead of $1970 a weekend. At least I'm saving money on something!!

have you given any thought on using scrubs? I got tired of going through a set of $3000 tires in two and a half days. You can get a set of scrubs for $500 and they will last you two days. Run pretty consistent and similar times to a brand new set of cup 2 or trofeo R.

you will need to drop to 19’s and setup the car a little different since you won’t have the rake created by the stock wheel delta (front to back). Still this can generate you a substantial savings over a years worth of track days. Another upside I found is that the slicks seem to be much more consistent through out a 30 min stint. They don’t seem to be as susceptible to overheating as a street tire.

I stopped by Orbit Racing a couple weeks ago to see the facility - top notch! I couldn't resist taking pictures of a 959 they had on the lift getting some routine maintenance...a testament to their reputation. By the way and if it is helpful, I would like to be considered another option for buying your leftover/unwanted parts! It would seem we are traveling in the same circles and neighborhoods anyway!

I'm talking to Forgeline now about 19's with Hoosiers. Need to read back through this thread again (I really need to anyway - so much info here) and do some thinking on it. Are those of you running Hoosiers still happy? What's the current setup you're using?

i had no luck with the Hoosiers. And picked little improvement in lap time over the trofeo R. You can use the Pirelli Slicks (Ferrari specs) work really well. You can usually pick scrubs with a three to five heat cycles on them for $125 per tire. They will last you another 5 to 8 heat cicles depending how hard you push them. At this stage they will run similar lap times to your cup R at a substantial savings. Then keep a new set at your disposal 650 per tire for those days that you really want to set some laps. They are ALOT more consistent than street tires and the grip levels is addicting.

hossiers in my personal opinion are garbage on our cars. Another option is hancooks slicks. Some other folks run those as well

I was running with a GT3 RS on Hankook Ventus F200 tires sized 300/680R19 front and 320/710R19 rear, and he was just wicked quick - I couldn't get away from him in the twisties at VIR. I'm going to research this more, but has anybody tried this tire combo? He was on Forgeline 19" wheels, but the fronts had to be at least 11" width, so somebody did some research to make that fit.

Going from memory but why do our manuals say not to run slicks on the cars duiring track days? Legal or too much strain on component?

I think it's "legal" and the claim that it's too much stress while under warranty. A zillion out-of-warranty 991's and 997's run slicks all the time. These cars are very, very robust and can absolutely handle the stress, but I get Porsche wants to limit their responsibility. On the flip side, I'm not sure how they could tell.

I think it puts a lot of force into control arm bushings usually needing ***** to take full advantage/proper position. I could see that being an issue but yeah wear and tear would be tough to tell cause of
