Porsche claims no adjustment needed for life of engine.

They've 'only' been hacking at this post-Mezger GT engine problem for 5 years now. Maybe they need just a tiny little bit more time...

The reality is; if you own an R you have the self-serving motive to talk it up and prop up it's grossly inflated value due to your bias.

We all know the 911 R is a 991.2 GT3 with a lesser motor minus the wing. Sure there's other differences but that's 95% of it right there. A car is simply the sum of its parts and the 911 R values only happened because flippers speculated it was the last manual GT car. Now that a better manual GT car has been announced in wide availability -- prices are rightly dropping back to reality. Hell -- even the 911 R owners know it privately; Andreas Preuniger talked about how they were writing him letters not to kill the value of their cars
If you stopped at comparing about the inflated price of the R, you might have a point.
When you go on to say it's a GT3 minus a wing, it just proves you don't know what you're taking about.

Speaking of douchebags, a friend sent me a picture a year or so ago of a real R here in Dallas at Cars and Coffee with VW Golf R emblems. Think about that for a moment and also think about what goes through the mind of someone who does that...

Not really. We've all got Google and the search box here; it isn't very difficult to see what the 911 R offers and I stand by my original statement. Just because you choose to ignore part of it either willfully or due to a lack of reading comprehension doesn't mean I'm gonna list for you on exact differences between a 991.1 & .2 or the couple go-fast parts the R has; some of which this car wasn't optioned with anyways... Next time why don't you include exactly what I said instead of quoting me out of context?

The heart of the new GT3 is actually better than the R - Porsche thinks so themselves.

I'm sure you read it all by now. Never thought I would really see Porsche bashing to this degree from Porsche owners?? Pretty childish IMO, and there has been some good insights, but terrible too.

I don't see anyone bashing Porsche here...I see a lot of people bashing the speculation and the flippers and the ridiculous valuation on the R though... ...and I see a bunch of R owners defending the 400k valuation of their car with arguments based mostly on 'feels' instead of actual facts.

I already said the 911 R is probably a 250k car which is ~50k above its MSRP; please explain how that's bashing Porsche? ...Porsche should be praised for giving everyone that bought the car directly from them more for their money.

Instead of calling other posters here childish; check your reading comprehension instead.
