Maybe but if thats the case then the economy will be in the dumpster and we have a lot worse things to deal with. Everyones cars will be worth a lot less.

Five pages of entertainment but the best part is still reading the thread title and seeing 410K price tag. Oh yeah, blowing it out!

Yup, if it was priced so well it would have already sold....guess the price needs some more fine tuning.

It will be <200k regardless of the economy/market. There will be quite a few Mezger RS cars with higher values -- possibly all of them.

Who knew this car would generate so much negativity. I"m not sure where this car will land in 5 years but I can say it has not been a good pr move to market and sell it the way they did.

Nothing negative about the car. It's a great car -- like many other great <$200k cars.

This is one example speculators went wrong.
Correct me if I am mistaken, but I thought the upcoming GT2RS's are not going to be limited in production.

I think the thread reaction is about the audacious asking price and the hype surrounding the R, not about the R itself. I've yet to hear anyone say the R isn't a very nice car.

I agree that most of the complaints are about the re-seller's price, but I still can't help feel that some of the luster of the actual car itself has been tarnished because of all the silliness surrounding these greedy antics. If Porsche had made a few more of them, there might be less backlash. So in my eyes, even PAG has lost some of its opportunity to bask in the glow of what should otherwise be considered a really great halo car.

It's a $200,000 car and probably a great Dirver's road car.

But - Cudos to those that flipped them early and made some good money. I would of done the exact same thing. Now- for those that paid those prices from the Flippers - Hey!!!- win some lose some.

I do not see this car in 10 years being worth $500,000 but I guess if you hang on to a NA late model edition from Porsche long enough it will probably appreciate now that everything will eventually be FI.

Hey- bubble wrap the .2 GT3 and I will bet you in 20 years it will be worth more than a bubbled wrapped R

That is an interesting argument as I feel the same way about the 4.0 997 RS when the 991 RS 4.0 came out. I can't see the benefits over current models other than limited production.

History does not support that position. Limited edition Porsches, at least in todays economy, bring considerable premiums. It's not only the quality of the cars or how different they are from other offerings, it's the limited availability. Look at the 2011 GT cars and their value today.

I believe strongly that the drop in R prices is an overreaction to the GT3 manual transmission announcement. I think the prices on the R's will go back up and now is a great time to buy one.
