just got back, let's discuss value of porsches
#7231
The more "wise" I become (read: older) the more right you are. Of course its chasing and trying out the new stuff that gives you experiential perspective, so that phase is still a prerequisite! Know this is a P-car forum but every year I love the 116 HP '90 miata more and more...but I'm a late 60's-early 70s British roadster-phile so guess that fits....

Wow, good call. We still think it was you though
I LOVE the 356. Thing is a piece of art, those tucked wheels. And that was designed in the era of you had to draw it and mock up in clay, No CAD to see how the engine and functional parts would fit under all of that. I know back then not rocket science as it is now....
But how do you get more retro than the 356....one of those tractors....

Three Wheelin'
So happy to have my 73 911 Hotrod back running again!
Unfortunately, I snapped at crankshaft at the track many years ago (4k miles after an expensive engine rebuild at a well known shop in CA and was too gutted to jump into another engine build at that time).
So, the car had been stored in my garage for quite a few years before I found a local trusted and expert resource to dive into an engine build again. To ensure a little more chance for longevity, I replaced the Mag case with a new (used) one from an unmodified street car, had all the updates done at Ollie's like shuffle-pinning, oil mods, clearance for 964 pump, line boring, etc. Then replaced the broken crank with a new custom crank and matching rods from Pauter (oversized bearings to use NASCAR ones), and many other things to get it back on the road.
Here are a few pics (old and new from yesterday morning at Red Rocks and a buddy's Caterham - we've run these cars together for almost 20 years):

After my own heart - I have both these, a 72 long hood and a 7. Very different experiences but both so much fun due to lightness, unassisted everything with max feel.

meh, I am merely spreading the love.
I am more effective than u though hahaha
I have the following to "let go"
signal orange 914/6, a real 6, with a JWE 2.7 off shuffle pinned 7R case
1990 964C2 with engine just redone
a Mclaren Senna , don't ask
look around all the site for pricing and ad 20% to the highest number you see, then pm me for wiring instruction. you wont be disappointed.
