just got a reply from another local dealer 30 minutes ago, they are asking 100k over for 2019/2020 model.

The implication i got is that Porsche is now extending GT3 production into late 2019?!

I've been saying that they'll keep building GT3s well into 2019 but no one seems to want to listen.

OK, you're in the "bay area" and with all the knowledge on RL and your own claimed research you believe your un-named stealer.

Are you a stealer salesmonkey trying to drum up leads?

That's not the problem though.. They can build 2000 more gt3's but if our respective dealers don't get anymore allocations, how do those who have been told no, receive one?

If we were all allowed to make our presence and intent to purchase known to Porsche directly it would change things, but we are held captive by the dealers whois allocations are directly tied to their sales #'s.

You can - Have your dealer put in a V070 order in and mark it request for allocation.

These mark ups are insane. I routinely get $20k-30k sent to me and I thought that was getting wild.

So far as I'm aware, this is meaningless with respect to actually getting allocations.

All dealers should be doing this for all of their deposits. It helps weed out people with multiple deposits.

It doesn't earn them allocations though. Porsche knows they'll sell every car they build. They don't need a heads-up that there's people still waiting.

True. I was responding to “If we were all allowed to make our presence and intent to purchase known to Porsche directly it would change things”

Well... Porsche wouldn't charge ADM, obviously.

That aside... I haven't the slightest idea how they'd handle who gets them any differently than the dealers.

We know they don't want flippers and would ensure people don't get multiple cars. Other than that though... who knows?

There's less cars than people that want them. What's the right solution?

We can all throw out ideas and some of them might be really great, but in the end I'm not really sure what would work.

Look at Ford and their application process for the GT. Some big money people got left out. Was that better?

If it's that simple why are dealers not keen to input the order to request allocation? There is only a $200K CAD sale to gain. Worst case is you get nothing.

Why would they choose to send customers packing instead?

Yes that is better. At the moment it's primarily big money people getting them. I was told this by two dealers.

That's the problem, big money customers are the one's getting cars with none left for the average money customers unless you are lucky somehow.

Let me tell you. The Dealers are no dummies. Of course they all placed orders for more than they actually needed or could sell locally. And yes, they use all sort of names from the past ect to show PAG/PCNA that they could move a lot of cars. Actually some smaller markets were jacking the amount they could move and when questioned if they could sell that many in State they looked like a dear with headlights. The problem is they are all over inflating what they can sell in their markets because they want to flip them out of State. There is just way too much demand the the ability to Supply right now. Even if the extend in to our Calendar year 2019- there will still be more demand than supply.

Supply and demand. If the dealers can create the illusion that supply is very tight, they can charge a large premium. If there was 1 gt3 allocation, it would be MSRP plus a couple million. If there were a million, they would be MSRP or under to move off the lots at the end of the run.

That's actually probably a good sign. If they keep asking for $20-30k over, that must mean no one is biting.

No one has offered me over for mine, so there aren't buyers at those prices, just dealers & 'brokers' searching for suckers.

It's nice to see actual transaction data points. Maybe we get one here? I'll be curiously watching conclusion of this auction. MSRP is $178k...

And this dork has now lowered his asking $20k since I sent him an email a few days ago asking if his listing price was an error? It was originally $88k over, now $68k over. Wished him luck, he'll certainly need it. He actually stated he was "just fishing," so at least he was forthright.
