If you transfer the title within 10 days, you do not have to pay sales tax on the buyout
gotcha...thanks for the quick answer!

If a Porsche dealer tells you guys you can't lock in the rate and the rate and program is whatever it is when your car comes, they are either lying to you because they don't want to submit the application for such process or they don't know how to do it. Or even better, some dealers may make extra bucks by telling you they're going with the new rates but back dating the old rate when you ordered the car.
Hey chaosoul. For people financing the new GT3, are we able to lock in the interest rates as well or do we have to wait till the car gets to the dealership?

Be careful with sales tax -- every state is different. What works in Calif. is no bueno elsewhere.

Seems that way. While my SA said that Porsche will sometimes trickle out allocations in between, I'm not expecting any news now until September.

It's possible my SA just doesn't want me to bug him as often.

Got the call from my dealer today that they have my allocation. Small midwestern dealer where I bought my GT4. They told me they never sell over msrp. Well guess what. They want $10,000 over now. So much for honesty and integrity. I don't per say have a problem with dealerships selling for over but when I have had a deposit for 18 months or more for MSRP that really rubs me the wrong way. We have also ordered a new car for my wife from them and I told them unless PTS then I am not interested and will also cancel my wife's car order. Have a call in to GM but think I am wasting my time. I am more and more turned off to Porsche over time. Not sure it is worth the hassle and aggravation. YMMV

Never understood these long term ( years before ) deposits. A lot can change while your deposit sits in dealers bank. Also never understood buying multiple cars for the privilege of a GT car at MSRP.
It's not what you know, but rather who you know.

Yeah, I don't understand the deposits either. Put a name down, but no need taking money unless you have the allocation or order ready then take whatever deposit you want.

Please tell me you will share the dealership name if it doesn't work out.

That is crazy to hear, especially from a smaller dealer. I would also cease to do business with them.

Sad to hear all this. I'm still hoping my SA comes through.
