Can confirm. At my old dealership we got 8 .1 GT3s, 4 .1 RSs, and only 4 .1 GTSs - 2 coupes, 1 cab and 1 Targa. I had 4 customers who ended up buying a Targa GTS from out of state dealerships because we could not get them an allocation. In my experience, it was easier for a dealership to get a GT3 than a Targa GTS.

To face reality, Porsche is already doing a better job than almost anyone else. Go look at BMW... that's where things start get ugly, no one will buy a car without 10-20k discount. Go look at Maserati Ghibli, 25k discount per car, and they just sit. These companies are always playing catch up, still leasing and selling new 2016 cars in the year 2017.

With the exception of maybe Ferrari, other luxury brands like Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, McLaren all have the same issue where their car wasn't perceived as well to the public, so giving some crazy discounts, 100k discounts on new car lol....
Curious, which models are you seeing 100k off new cars?

Well, of the brands I listed, Bentley and Rolls Royce I've seen offer 100k+ discounts on new cars numerous times. And I know of quite a few that picked up the deal. Bentley models seen offered are Continental GT3-R, Continental Superports, Mulsanne. Rolls Royce models seen offered on almost every model that has been out for at least couple years (Ghost, Wraith, Phantom), not Dawn yet. Phantom I've seen near 200k discount.

Highest I've seen on Lamborghini is 80k off, but was a while back (Gallardo).

Heard from my SA yesterday. HE said the dealership in OKC got one allocation which they gave to their number one customer. (they currently have his Ford GT as well as a 991.1 gt3 he originally bought which they are now reselling for the 3rd time!!!).
HE doesn't really flip cars but he doesn't keep them very long either. We played a game of tag saturday, he in his Ferrari 488 and me in my GT4.

The Tulsa guys are saying they got 2 991.2gt3 allocations. I thought OKC was the bigger dealer but I guess not.
Anyway, I have time to wait and if not, I am actually content with the GT4, may look at a used mcClaren or Ferrari in a year or 2 if the gt3 doesn't happen

People always really want something they can't have. I would believe that there are more than 3 people in OK that want a .2 and many would pay up. If depreciation is the major concern I suggest a used Camry from Hertz.

Size doesn't necessarily matter. A lot of times other factors come into play. like: Premier status, sales of a particular model, etc, etc, etc.

Yeah, I am 10th on the list at my dealer in OKC so there is a demand. I think they sold 5-6 991.1 gt3s so there is a demand out there.

Not sure what you are trying to say with the depreciation comment.

Broker texted me about a PTS Feb manual allocation for $65k over MSRP. Yeah, good luck with that.

Yeah, you're right, I'd only offer him $60K over.
On a serious note, how can a broker already have one to sell you?

Yeah a Feb PTS allocation when they don't have those out yet if I remember correctly.

I would tell him the published ring time sucks and you will take it for 10% less than MSRP

Lol.... seriously where do these people come up with these dates. I can assure you no one knows when they can make PTS next year, not to mention getting one.

You should tell him ok, but it has to be PTS February and Manual. If any of those 3 is not the end result, then he need to give you 65k under MSRP instead.

A mid-sized Midwest dealership just received three allocations today.
