Richard: Come to U.S. and try to buy for the numbers you want.
Called Circle Porsche. They have a new UV which is $216K MSRP. They have bids for over $40K over on it so far.

Let's pause for a moment, set aside our differences and appreciate Porsche engineering. I noticed a couple days ago the leather on the dashboard of my 599 HGTE was pulled away from the window, shrinking and popped over a sensor. So I decided to remove it myself and take to a local leather shop to get repaired. This picture is after 12.5 hours of craziness in my garage.

AP lied? Don't think so. Parts catalog not accurate. How many times have catalogs not been totally accurate when you call tech. If we go by what your saying PAG just punched out the 4.0 and called it a day and dropped it in the GT3R, RS and R.
Not likely for many reasons. Catalog is off.
Try it out. Order a cam from the catalogue without more follow up with tech for a 4.0 and run it in your 3.8 and let us know how that works out.
Catalogue is clearly off in details.
Did you see the cataloque? This isn't a marketing brochure. They list all parts & revisions including order number and so one. Even explosion drawings.

You raped your Ferrari!
Well done-not many people would try this.
Now all we need is a DIY

So they are using the same cam profile and springs on a motor that revs to 9000 and one that revs to 8600 and a 3.8 and 4.0?
Makes no sense. At least to me.
Missing something here.

Heads, cams, springs, finger followers where updatet in production in early 2015. The oil pressure was changed from this date and also applied to the cars produced before (software update). A new oil pump came with modell year 2016 (G). Thos parts are all applied to the MA175 and MA176 engine.
AP did not lie. He is correct when comparing the initial version of the MA175 engine to the "new" MA176 in GT3RS. What he didn't say is, that alle the changes were also applied to the MA175 step by step.

It seems from my investigation the cams did progress to the RS cams and springs which they are apparently using on the last 3.8 motors and rebuilds/replacements. Changed profiles and different springs. Seems like the biggest most important changes were the oil pressure changes, different heads and oiling and drop in revs iwth the 4.0. Likley key.
