McLaren Success

Mclaren Philadelphia got their demo car in last week...to be clear, this was a DEMO car...they took 1 video of the flames out of the exhaust and posted it on their instagram in front of the dealer, it was in the showroom for one day, and unadvertised given it was supposed to be used for customer drives etc... and someone (I believe flew up) and wanted to buy it on the spot. They sold it to him for sticker as they don't sell new inventory over sticker, period...if anyone is worried about the demand, or treatment by the brand... I'm thinking you're going to be alright for a while. I'm pretty sure they are out of allocations, but I'm sure CJ has a couple tucked up his sleeve, and I heard Texas and Newport Beach may have one or a couple left as well. Cant wait for mine within the next couple weeks!

The trade-in price must have been even lower. It would be indecent to write here what a street car must do for me during 2k miles of ownership for the equivalent of a 1-2 year pro-level racing budget.

There is a wide spread of prices in the 675 market, and a good number for sale nationwide at the moment. Of course, we know that there are only 1,000 cars total worldwide: 500 coupe, 500 spyder. Perhaps there are 200-250 LT coupes in the US?
In 18-24 months you'll be able to buy a 600LT for ~$200K.
In 18-24 months you'll be able to buy a 600LT for ~$200K.
Maybe more, maybe less.
But then again in 18-24 months we will have the 720 Spider in full production and the 750LT (or whatever its called) starting to show up. These cars will depreciate and you will lose money on them if you try to buy as an investment. If you can stand buying a 2 year old car of any make, you will do just fine. If you have to be first on the block with a car, then likely you will lose money down the road.
Me? im a middle of the road guy- dont need to be the first but certainly dont want to be the last. I bought my 720 at a price that works for me- didnt pay full retail but certainly didnt steal the car. I guess I could have spent another 4 months looking for the right deal but thats 4 months of not driving.
I set aside a certain amount for toys yearly and my cars have fallen within that range. I know going in they are going to depreciate and thats ok. I dont like losing money - no one does, but I just booked our hotel for a week for my family vacation next summer. 15 grand. Talk about depreciation- ill never get that money back but will have a lifetime of memories to relish on. Same with my cars.

And youll be out of most of your warranty...for what it's worth...24 months from now a 991.2 gt3 will probably be worth about 30k under sticker or more...its a half the price of the lt600...so that still doesn't sound too bad to me!

People tend to forget that Porsche dealers sell mostly Cayennes, Macans and 911s, which are almost always discounted, if not always.
