'In many ways the Porsche is like a rolex...timeless, beautiful, exceptional quality, but also can function as a "tool". The Mclaren is more of a Patek, a bit less rugged, less practical...and if you get a bad one, you will have a busy ownership experience."

===>. that's why I sold all my calatravas and back to boring Rollies again. b/c if there's a way to break something, I will find it. and so far porsche is the most bullet proof. but I do like Mac

While I agree a Porsche is like a Rolex in many ways, I don't really think a McLaren is the automotive equivalent of a Patek. A McLaren is more like a Richard Mille. Brash, new upstart company, with new innovative tech and techniques, including lots and lots of carbon.

agree. If anything, Ferrari is the Patek. Old,established, prestigious.

Well if current RM resale status is to be considered on average...then maybe it's worth getting into Mclaren LOL...stuff has skyrocketed (not all but most normal pieces) to what they were value wise 4-5 years ago...

This car was for sale at Motorcars a few weeks earlier (McLaren dealer in Atlanta) for $259k, as I recall.

Now it's across town, and the price keeps dropping - $239k now; if the price keeps dropping at ~$1k / day I may be forced to buy myself a Christmas gift!

https://www.selectluxury.com/VDP-201...5lt-c-2593.htm

At an original MSRP of $401k, it's down $162k, or ~40% in 2-3 years with 4,618 miles on it. Setting aside taxes and all carrying costs except depreciation, each mile has cost roughly $35!

Yikes, that's brutal; my buddy asked a little lower for his 675LT coupe with around the same MSRP, but had a lot more miles! I don't know for how much his car traded.

Reminds me of the beautiful Aurora Blue they have at Miller Motorcars....$393K MSRP and was for sale above sticker now at $299K.....and likely will sit at that price....

Mclaren Philadelphia got their demo car in last week...to be clear, this was a DEMO car...they took 1 video of the flames out of the exhaust and posted it on their instagram in front of the dealer, it was in the showroom for one day, and unadvertised given it was supposed to be used for customer drives etc... and someone (I believe flew up) and wanted to buy it on the spot. They sold it to him for sticker as they don't sell new inventory over sticker, period...if anyone is worried about the demand, or treatment by the brand... I'm thinking you're going to be alright for a while. I'm pretty sure they are out of allocations, but I'm sure CJ has a couple tucked up his sleeve, and I heard Texas and Newport Beach may have one or a couple left as well. Cant wait for mine within the next couple weeks!

The depreciation trend has certainly decreased with the 720s and it seems the 600LT will also do well.

But again- who cares? buy the car to drive it, not as an investment. If you buy right, minimize your depreciation and enjoy the car.

That is a one of a kind car. It has a 7 speed manual with dual clutch. 4 pedals across?
