It's been a bit quiet, still hopeful for delivery (in Europe) Q1.
Hope so, looks like my 91RS has to last another year. Lol....
720s will need to do some stand in days.

I hope you're wrong.
It was seen being tested same time as GT3. Wouldn't make much sense to get it dialed in for delivery when the power/times it will put down will no longer be as good.

I will be at Geneva but not until a bit later on in the week and did not get an invite to the stand (many dramas with our dealer here, the usual!), will take some distant photos though. Will be getting much closer to some lovely red cars instead.

If they do this, I wonder if it's meant to be a concession for the 911R owners in order to extend the exclusivity (and value) of a manual GT for a little bit longer.

Will get the early adopters to buy pdks version, sell it and buy manual later. Porsche isn't stupid.

Nah... If that happens,it's the same reason why the LWFW wasn't available early on when speccing a 911 R : which is absolutely no reason! Because Porsche...

Possibly they do not have the capacity to do both. The GT4 was "Manual" only and GT3 was "PDK" only. Probably more efficient and I can enjoy my GT4 longer. Better they do this than screw up and I end up with a PDK after ordering a Manual - would be pissed

Maybe they have spare PDK trannies laying around and they want to use those first. Who knows and it doesn't matter before the first round of allocations will go mostly to the VIPs so not like many of us average Joes would get a car from the first allocation. I won't what color the car that they'll roll out to Geneva will be. I'm hoping for Miami Blue.

In addition to buy them time to assess the take up of manual GT3s? As opposed to locking down production of manual gt3 units. Given the publicity hype does not corelate with the trendline of pdk take ups.

I think it's simply for performance's sake. When they roll out .2, it has to be faster than .1, so you don't give a bunch of manual press cars at the launch. You give bunch of PDK's to benchmark against the old car.....handily beats the old car and compares better to all the inevitable turbo competitor shoot-outs (not that there are anymore real rivals), then all the number ****** get a boner over how fast their new GT3 laps the N-ring, and circle jerk to it on interwebs. Also, encourages demand so they trade in their .1 for .2.

Then manual quietly slips in a couple months later for us antiquated enthusiasts and press, and it's the car/tranny that wins EVO COTY, and every other publication COTY.....and restores balance to the Force.
