I popped into my dealer on Saturday and heard the same info. A "reworked" 4.0L and a manual will be offered, though the first cars coming off the line will all be PDK

I think the limitation on manuals production might also due to the real world demand.

The poll on RL shown about 50/50 split between PDK and manual but outside of RL and especially in Europe, the manual take rate will be low. I won't be surprised if over 80% of all manual GT3 are sold to US.

The first cars off the line will be for markets outside the US for months. Hopefully, the first cars off the line for the US market will have a choice of gearbox by then...

Did you get any sense of why they are going down that path. I had thought the US was the largest global 911 market.

This has always been the course (ROW before US). Maybe they use the ROW as beta-testers, so the US cars have more of the bugs resolved?

Thanks, I wonder if the issues with the '14 GT3 were more prevalent in ROW.

The transmission choice is not negotiable. People have compromised on seats...even exterior colors...but they won't on transmission.
It is simply NO WAY that a dealer would have the ***** to tell you : " buy pdk if you want an allocation ". What kind of dealers do you work with,God?!
If the manual comes later in the production you will get a manual.

Could be that Or it could be that the US has the longest warranties and the most litigious society, so making a mistake is more costly...

Exactly, it's the litigation that keeps the Euro mfrs away until product is sorted.

Agree- They also know the US market will be the highest demand for Manual- GT4 proved that.

This is actually not that unlikely to be a factor since the US is what they call a "high-litigation" country.
