Technically, the GT3 was already announced in Paris last October - confirmed by fxz

I heard from my cleaning lady, that .2 GT3 will have Sep build for Dec/Jan delivery. No word on where it would be launched.
Re: horsepower.
Looking back on 997.1 RS vs 997.2 GT3, the 3 was +20hp. Granted it was a 3.8 vs 3.6, so I'd thinking it wouldn't be totally unprecedented for the .2 GT3 to be >500 hp. Not saying it will happen, but wouldn't surprise me either.

Yeah,I've heard the 2 GT3 will be twin turbo V8 with a torque converter slushbox and weigh 4000 pounds. It will be launched discreetly in the beautiful town of Cesky Krumlov,Czech Republic.

As for power, 3.8 at 490 or 4.0 at 510 I don't think it matters, they will sell, they will be faster in a straight line than an RS and probably equal or a little slower than an RS at the ring.
911R will be unaffected, it's a special, limited edition car.
Prices are going up and I doubt the .2 GT3 will have much affect on RS prices. As a manual, but with lower redline than the .1, the .1 price will settle in 30k or so below the .2 MSRP.

Seems like opinions are mixed on whether the 991.2 GT3 will be faster than the 991.1 RS.
On paper, seems like the RS should be faster - presumably more power, presumably more aero, less weight, wider tires, etc.
But I suppose the 991.2 GT3 could have more power than advertised, stealthy but effective aero with the rear diffuser, etc., and maybe N2 Cup 2 tires.
Some uncertainty here, but I'll venture a prediction that official ring lap time will be around 7:21-22.

They'll get it through more Sophisticated PASM (ie more compliance at the bumpy Ring) and a new Michelin tire I think

I'm assuming (possibly incorrectly) that the GT3 will have a little less power than the RS, equal N1 (not better) tires, a bit less effective aero, and not much lap time gain due to better suspension (991.1 GT3 damping already seems really good).

The DSC Sport box that lets you tune the PASM shocks demonstrates that there are faster times to be had with better software alone and hopefully we'll get that at a minimum (and new hardware too at best). http://www.dscsport.com/
And my guess about tires (not repeating a leak, just my own guess) is that they'll use a tire similar to the new stickier compound of the Cup2's used on the AMG GT R that set a 7:10.x lap.
And the new 4.0L is going to count for some improvement too (without all the drag from the wide body/wide tired/picnic table wing of the RS) on the very fast Nordschliefe (RS will be faster at Hockenheim unless the new rubber is really sticky).
