Aside from US Fed mandated rear camera (which requires PCM to work), I see that Satellite Radio is standard now. Does this mean we have to have the shark fin antenna?

Yo! Thats the plan. Dude I know you're a music head like me. Check the score on the microsite page!!! I gotta find that music. Hopefully its not just a Porsche creation.

I'm guessing the audio is tailored for this site experience. We should be able to get to the bottom of it in short order.

Gotta love this quote from AP who addresses the whole BS some people on this forum bring up routinely about Porsche worrying about upsetting past customers:
From Pistonheads, this is AP: "And this is a message I want to get across too. I got letters from R owners saying 'oh, I heard there is going to be a manual version of the gen two, now I have the R, I have to protect my investment'. And I say we are a company that produces cars, we live because we sell cars and we have to make a profit on the cars to go on. We are not a hedge fund so we cannot offer cars with a built-in promise to keep value for a small amount of chosen people, this is wouldn't fair. I mean the R will stand on its pedestal for ever, as with the RS 4.0 - with the RS 4.0 it didn't hurt that there was a 991 GT3, it didn't hurt that there was an RS, it didn't hurt that there was an R with a manual gearbox. RS 4.0 values are sky high, it is the same with the R, it is not challenged by that car but if we discover a niche or a want for a driver's car why shouldn't we do it, we are a motor company."

Where it says RS 4.0, it means the 997 RS?

That would be interesting and unnecessary for Porsche to put a 4.0L engine in a GT4RS. The GT4 got a weakened version of the 3.8L 991.1 C2S engine. Porsche could just put the 3.8L engine from the 991.1 GTS, but at the full power of that engine, and a GT4RS would still be in crazy demand

Was just talking to a track buddy today from where I used to live, who runs a GT4. I'm happy the GT4 will be getting an upgrade for him, but the Porsche hierachy is clear-----------
911 based cars >>>> cayman based cars.
A stock GT4, even in RS guise, will not be faster than a stock GT3 of the same generation.

Interesting if that is the case. There is a certain appeal to being able to take the kids for a ride in the GT3 with the family. At least we won't have to address the "can I retrofit rear seats?" threads.
I still wouldn't trade my first allocation slot for the .2 RS for rear seats, though. My daughter is just going to have to learn that life's not always fair.

It doesn't make sense to make a touring wingless variant of a GT3 that includes rear seats, because then it's just a NA 911 carrera as compared to basically making a 911R for Porsche enthusiasts that aren't 918 level VIPs....which does makes sense.

And I would expect GT4 RS to be a homologation special that is either limited to VIP customers, very expensive, or both...

With firestorm that the 911R created with the faithful - cant't imagine Porsche AG will repeat that mistake by limiting the GT4RS.
