So I don't feel that PAG is designing most of these cars just for 918 customers (ok, excepting the R and perhaps some stuff to follow). It's just how it's turning out for the US market in particular, and to some degree the Canadian market. To be clear, I don't blame the 918 customers. But this is the deal that PCNA agreed to. This will continue here more or less until somewhere around 2023, at least for those customers who didn't quickly sell their 918s. So perhaps even the 50th anniversary of the 1973 Carrera RS (assuming this happens, and why not!) may be largely unavailable in North America. We'll just have to get used to it.
I was a little bit sarcastic, but in North America I don't expect ANY non-918 owner to be able to acquire a numbered limited edition Motorsport or Exclusive division car directly from the company, with the exception of CJ's 911 R of course

Current market value (and expected future market value) are key, though.

570S priced with options far exceeds GT3 RS MSRP, but in the real world you can get a very nice 570 with delivery miles for less than you can a garage queen RS.

As for Huracan, I meant to specify the 580-2

I paid around $215k ish for my well optioned PTS RS.
Nice toys for sure! In ATL you can get a loaded 570S for 219k, out the door I would say 210k vs. the asking.

570S

All run the quarter well into the 10s and trap around or above 130 MPH. I think the 991.2 GT3 will be quite outgunned in the marketplace too; 2013 (991.1 GT3 intro) vs 2017 (992.2 GT3 intro) - very different world for a variety of reasons. Meanwhile the GT3 is only a mild evolution.
It's true that the RS won't beat the cars you listed that cost 200k and more.

However the 991 GT3 with an average MSRP of 140k, will beat anything else

I drag race my 991 GT3 every other month with a group of car friends and my
car beats a Mustang GT350, Corvette both regular and Z06, M4, Tesla P90D, Ferrari 458, and tied a Nissan GTR.

A 4.0L .2 GT3 would do even better. But it wouldn't beat the 200k and above cars.

Jumping in late on this but I saw the gt3.2 in the flesh while visiting Weissach and just like all the other GT3's it has a wing.

This wing delete talk is nonsense.

Thank you.

Otherwise it's quite entertaining to hear the speculation from those with " sources " and no common sense...

FWIW the actual porsche employees love watching you guys write stuff on here speculating and wishing or being pissed about stuff that never happens.

The next gen will have a 4.9L Turbo Wankel engine with DLC coated suspension springs and fluffy hamster pelt carpets. FYI.

. FYI.
I respect you keeping Dr. W's secrets.

on a more general note, if people at Porsche get a kick out of our rampant speculation, do they also sometimes use rennlist for market research, and ever add anything to the next car model that their enthusiast customers hope they will?

I know they are giving substantial discounts vs MSRP on new 570S examples.
