I think Rosenbergendo is likely right. 991.1GT3RS is the last of the Mohichans as far as the NA is concerned.

I believe there is more torque to be had out of the 3.8 via the ECU provided emissions can still be met. You can get more torque out of it now with exhaust and/or header mods.

4.0 is already pretty slow in a straight line versus the competition near or north of $200k:

991.2 Turbo (S)
Huracan
R8 V10 Plus
488 GTB
570S

All run the quarter well into the 10s and trap around or above 130 MPH. I think the 991.2 GT3 will be quite outgunned in the marketplace too; 2013 (991.1 GT3 intro) vs 2017 (992.2 GT3 intro) - very different world for a variety of reasons. Meanwhile the GT3 is only a mild evolution.

Agreed. That's why I think the 991.2 GT3 will be the last NA GT3 and the 991.1 RS is the last NA RS as Rosenbergendo as said as supported from his sources. Rosenbergendo also said the new GT3 will stay 3.8 which kinda surprised me but I can see why they would stay 3.8 with a 10hp increase in hp and bump in torque with other improvements and a mt option.

We are now in a TT world.

One point to remember the RS MSRP is 185k, and the cheapest of them all especially the 488 and Lambo. RS was never built for straight line acceleration. (R8 is a date night car)

i think OP was saying there will either be no 991.2 GT3 RS since GT2 RS is being introduced or the 991.2 GT3 RS will be NA with some hybrid tech on the front.

The chances of Porsche producing a 991.2 GT3 with either a 100% NA engine with either 4.0L or 4.2L engine in a turbo performance world will be very slim.

The Huracan, McLaren 570S and R8 can all be had with slim options for 200k which is what the GT3 RS prices out to on average.

The RS is now directly in that pricing territory more than ever.

BTW when i spend 200k i would prefer 10 times a 4L aerospace metallurgy 9k rpm NA plus hybrid
over any outdated 80' tech hoover

Agree. I think I'd take hybrid + NA over turbo. I'm not as concerned about turbo lag anymore given 1) it's almost disappeared and 2) it's not as big of an issue with DCT. it's more the SOUND that I will miss the most on NA.

Both the 991.2 GT3 and RS will be NA. The GT3 will be 4.0 L. The 4.0 can still pump out more HP for the RS and 4.2 is a consideration. The 991 RS was not the last of the Mohicans. The 991.2 will be for the RS but the GT3 may survive another iteration. In the eyes of Porsche the 918 in the end was a success(they did swet it a little) and they are watching the NSX very closely. Chances are the 918 technology will trickle down to the 992 RS.

The GT4 will probably stay NA for a couple more rounds and that will be their flag ship purist car to go up against lotus and others' that will focus on light weight, NA, models that will always have their place over track times. These models are great stepping stones up the chain for them
