GT3 Wins Targa Tasmania
The Targa Tasmania is one of the worlds most challenging tarmac rallies run on the island of Tasmania in Australia over 5 days.
This year it was won for the first time by Matt Close in a GT3. Matt has had 12 previous attempts in a range of other cars switching to a GT3 for this years attempt which he finally won.
Take a look at the video to see a GT3 being driven at 10/10ths on public roads. The sounds are awesome.

Matt's biggest competitor was Jason White in Viper ACR Extreme. They jockeyed for the lead over the 5-days until the GT3 prevailed on the last day.....for not the least reason that the Viper's engine blew up while the GT3 kept going.
Interesting car though and an interesting small clip on the Viper.

very cool! the sound is insane, does that sound like full race exhaust?
also curious with my first GT3 track day coming up, do you guys run all traction control/ESC in off mode? or should I have one on?

Enjoy, and get some time behind the wheel in your GT3. I tried several iterations of Fabspeed exhausts before settling on race headers, side muffler valved bypasses with the OEM center muffler retained as my preferred set-up for exhaust tone and hp increase. But this is just one set-up that works ...

Bill, you're going to have blast with this GT3 ... but would keep the nannies engaged to start with. I still drive with the nannies on after a few brief DE seasons (2-3 per year). This car has great handling/cornering but without traction/stability control software not engaged it may surprise you ...

Bloody awesome effort. Well done Matt. He started the season very convincingly with the GT3 and pulling it off against an ACR extreme takes some doing. Car is effectively stock as well. I see Jim R has finally got the GT4 suspension dialed in successfully so well done too!
