Update: With the Front and Rear Drop Links completed, the following are currently outstanding; Front and Rear Top Damper (shock) mounts in production; Various Metal Pieces Under Front and Rear Pumper Pieces (including metal crush pontoons) to be translated into Carbon Fiber in design; Inconel/titanium Exhaust System test fit and in completion; Testing of Carbon Clutch begun; New Carbon Fiber and Super Magnesium Steering Wheel pieces design complete, tooling production process begun; Lightweight Starter and Lightweight Alternator in final stages of production; Carbon Fiber Gearbox moving forward. As to time periods, given the world situation....
P.S. Would welcome suggestions of other things at which to look.

You must have stated your preference to keep the stock seats somewhere, but just in case you didn't... This is an area for more weight savings either by redesigning the heavier components in the sofa seats if that is the seat in your R or outright replacement with lighter CF seats for either the Porsche CF bucket seats or sofa seats.

But there's also other somewhat heavy interior items, carpets, door panels, sound insulation etc.

Sorry Robert if you have already covered this, but did you get the polycarbonate glass for the rear and side windows as was delivered in Europe? Any consideration of going with custom gorilla glass all around? I have found the gorilla glass on the GT3RS to be a bit fragile for a well used vehicle but if weight is the issue seems like a place to look at, would love your view point

As to the Recaro Podium Seats, I am not a racer and the 911R is not a race car. What the 911R is about, however, is engineering and art -- and to some extent, about at least a level of comfort. Although, the Podium seats score re weight when compared to the Porsche Carbon Fiber Bucket Seats, Podium does not as to road driving comfort nor, particularly given the material and finish options available, do they when it comes to appearance - indeed, in my 911R, they would look worse than hideous.
Further, the weight reduction exercise in which I am currently engaged is not about stripping components, comfort or safety out of the 911R (that would be too easy and, possibly, dangerous), but, instead, about creating (through design, engineering, manufacture and materials use) new components that are not only lighter but at least as functional, and, if possible, better then the originals.

My 911R has the polycarbonate "glass" rear side windows and rear window. They are slightly lighter than the Gorilla Glass equivalents and original to the 911R. Again, as I have noted several times in this thread with regard to many individual weight reduction ideas which are, as are the lighter windows, by themselves, a waste of money, but should absolutely be a part of any weight reduction effort intended to, in reality, be more than show, i.e., for the 911R, any total weight reduction of more than at least 150 pounds which, of necessity, must be comprised of the sum of many different individual reduced weight components.

Yes, Carbon Fiber Gearbox - it will be the first carbon fiber gearbox on any Porsche, street or race car. And, as such, true to the pioneering weight reduction efforts of the 1967 911Rs.

One of my high school English teachers (who won the district's Teacher of the Year award, and probably deserved it) kicked me out of AP English senior year and left me with a crystal-clear impression that I was going nowhere in English. So I entered college as a Business major...
My take: High school teachers are poor indicators of teenagers' futures...as are teenagers.
As always, love seeing pics of your projects, which allow others to reach with their art.

Are you saying there is never been a carbon fiber gearbox on any Porsche race cars, including the LMPs?
Also please educate me on this. For the carbon fiber gearbox, you are referring to the case/housing for the gearbox/transmission, correct? How much does a 911R gearbox weigh? What is the weight saving for the case/housing made of carbon fiber?
Curious if there has been attempts to use hybrid steel/carbon-fiber gears inside the gearbox for further weight reduction. I would think only F1 teams can afford to do this but I am not sure. I understand due the dynamic nature of the gears (as opposed to something more static like a case/housing), it is probably not a walk in the park.
