and finally for the last record run they haved the cup R compound and design with the marking sportcup 2 n2 on the sidewall just because the tire was not « commercial ready » only few guys knew it during the record, for exemple preuninger didn’t knew anything about that 😁
Just drive a gt2 rs standard on the nordschleife and try to push hard on easy slow corner, with the n2 you can hear the tire screaming like stormy daniels, and in the record video nothing, the tire is different and really more grippy also stiffer than the n2 for sure

the mechanics (include few guys of manthey in fact) mounted few set of wheels with different tire for the different run, they also tried a michelin zeropressure tire in the size of the gt2 (who are not available on the market) also pirelli trofeo r (who worked not 100% good on the car but anyway faster than n2)

Except these special prototypes have a different marking on the tires itself to differentiate them from the 'normal' Cup2 N2s that were also sitting around. The ones that got onto the car don't have these special markings, they were the regular normal Cup2 N2s.

lap in btg 7:04 with no traffic (MICHELIN N2)
lap in btg 7:05 with easy 10sec traffic (PIRELLI trofeo) and yeah the cup R is better and more adapted to the gt2

SEB is right about the tires. Just spent a couple of days with a guy that was on site during the gt2rs record. Definately new R compound and also a few other little tweaks done to the car.
That Lambo lap is very impressive. Only thing to do is to lift hat and congratulate. However, It looks like that Lambo was even more modified than the gt2rs.
