Race Car
Sorry guys, Been a busy day:
Done 1050kms when the day is over.
Car is now handed over to PPF installer and I won't get the car back until the 13th of August.
On my way back home for a couple of hours sleep then on a plane to Nurburgring.
I'll try to post some bad pictures tomorrow.
Some impressions:
Crazy loud when turbos not building pressure.
Don't stand behind the car when wife fires it up un-announced
Reversing the 2RS is much smoother than the 991.1GT3RS.
Also creeping a way on first gear is easier than the 991.1RS.
The bordello roof/interior is not distracting when driving.
I find the car to be comfortable on our crappy roads. A lot of road noise though.
(On the other hand when I switched car with wife and got to drive out BMW 520 diesel it felt like I was sitting inside a velvet cushion.)
Wife noted that she almost fell a sleep driving the BMW but felt terrific after driving the GT2RS.
The engine feels rawer compared to the .1RS.
I'm missing the sound of the .1RS gearbox. Maybe it is just to warm over here right now to get that sound of gears being mashed up.
The fire extinguisher no longer interferes with the passenger seat (Euro club sport).
The from axel lift is slower (hydraulic) compared to the pneumatic lift in the .1RS - not a big deal.
I go the Non-WP rims instead of the magnesium's. I'll get the mags later.
The steering wheel is missing its carbon bits but I got the carbon paddles.
I got the "No water in tank" message initially but after open/closing cap of the distilled water tank the warning went away.

That track-only GT2 might soon have a few racing series to compete in.

When Porsche had around 10 GT2 RS at Spa last week, they brought 300 litres of distilled water with them and took home 80 litres.
If I heard them correctly, they calculated that for a solid track day at Spa in warmer weather, you would need to take between 20-30 lites of distilled water with you. So where do you put 20-30 litres of distilled water? Hmmmm, drive the car to the track but then need to take a trailer for the water!

friend was out last week in much warmer weather and was getting closer to 10l per tank of fuel!
Think Manyhey reckon 7-8 laps of Spa before needing filled up.
they are working on a solution, as per screenshot, and when ready will be an easy fit for 15litres
In the meantime, you’re right - 5ltrs in the tank, and 20ltrs in the hold! Zandvoort here we come...
