Congrats on your allocation.

Thank you! The price is in US dollars. Even if you buy overseas and bring it in yourself you still need to pay all the taxes which is around 70-80% depending on the engine size etc. For high end cars like this you just buy from dealer so it comes with warranty.

Comparison (base car with WP):
Sweden $382k
Germany $391
Norway $472k ( I suspect that there might be some taxes added to the price maybe someone from Norway can chime in)
Finland $652k (not sure if this is with or without WP)
Denmark $1000k (Yes $1000k!)

MSRP USD$ 513K
We have 2 different WP packages here in Taiwan.

USD$ 58K with steel roll cage
USD$ 65K with titanium roll cage. Of course I went with titanium roll cage. Dont know why people complain about 31K for WP package My total came out to be 617K with options this car is worth every dime
Congratulation !! But only 2 gt2 rs WP for Taiwan ?????

****, European prices are crazy. But buying it in Germany, putting as many miles as possible on it and import it as a used car, still works for most countries, so, little tip for whoever wants to save a couple of 10K's € or just open a company in either Germany or Switzerland and have the car registered as a company car/ marketing tool and drive it around Europe. Taxes on cars are getting even sillier than they were before.

Excerpt from Nick Tandy interview w/Excellence Magazine - March 2018 - GT2RS record run at Nurburgring:

Excellence:

You were recently part of the GT2 RS team which broke the Nürburgring lap record. We know Porsche’s official test driver, Lars Kern, recorded the all-important time of 6 minutes 47 seconds, but what was your best?

Tandy:

I’d actually just got off a plane that evening from Austin, Texas, and the next thing I know I’m driving a 991 GT2 RS on a hot lap around the ’Ring. I actually held the record myself for all of 45 minutes with a time of 6 minutes 49 seconds, and I thought ‘that’s enough risk.’ The thing is, driving a GT2 RS at the ’Ring, without a full cage, at 335 km/h (208 mph), on road tires and suspension, is not fun! Being a young father of two, I considered my options and the risks I should probably—or probably not—be taking, and thought that was fast enough.

Lars, however, being the daredevil he is, thinks differently! He fancied another go and went out and got 6 minutes 47 seconds. Fair play to him. It was great because (Porsche’s Vice-President of Motorsport and GT cars) Dr. Walliser asked me to go along and support the event with Lars and we managed to work off each other and get some good times, get some good speed out of the car. From my point of view, though, it was a lot of risk for what turned out to be not a lot of reward in the end!

But in the US, apparently we are perceived to be less of a liability when we kill ourselves without even a roll bar then if we live by being able to buy a WP/CS package "offroad only in a box".
Dead people don't sue, but dead peoples families do Porsche.

People who get paid to track this car at full tilt say it's too much risk and not much fun. Some other people pay $400k-$1mil for the privilege. Go figure...

Some of those $4k-$1m folks will unfortunately end up hurting themselves because they will run out of talent very quickly in this car and the car will teach them a lesson. Widowmaker 2.0.

Besides not wanting this car since it's a turbo, the other reason I don't want the car is because honestly I worry about my own safety driving it too fast. The 991RS is already scary fast to me and why I enjoy tracking a slower GT4 more often.

Anytime you take a 600hp+ street car and put it on a racetrack I think its asking for trouble, especially at a DE with weekend warriors behind the wheel. Now days 600hp is a drop in the bucket, just like people with more money than talent. If your a person without the self control to not run 10/10 all the time, I don't think you should own a high hp car. One of the things I loved the most with my Radical RXC was that is was only 400hph, I never had to worry about high speeds. I plan on taping a picture of my wife and son right over the speedo every time I head to the track in 2 RS.
