You'll be able to get the next GTS in manual as an option, but the GT3, & RS will remain PDK. Spirited driving, shifting gears yourself is something to enjoy after getting coffee on an early Saturday morning. I don't think the brand positioning, considering the competition from Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren road cars, will permit Porsche to come in 4th place on track tests with a 6 speed gated gearbox. My opinion but AP said in the 911R Evo video (2:00 minutes into the video) that the 6sp gearbox was fine for the road but not the track. Time will tell.

As long as PDK-S is being offered moving forward(AND IT WILL!!!),none of its fans should care whether a manual transmission will be offered as an option. It just doesn't make sense to me! Why do you care?! You shouldn't even bother with this subject...it's irrelevant to you...you are all set if you plan on getting the 991.2 GT3! Here's a piece of news for you : from the cleaning lady, from AP,from Porsche himself : PDK-S will 100.000.000% be offered in the new 991.2 GT3!!! There...all set...you can sleep in peace now.

Unless you're selfish...???

Exactly. Let's all just get along and enjoy Pcars for what they are.

Offering the 991.2 GT3 in both manual and PDK-S will be a great experiment for AP and for Porsche. Will likely be a huge take up rate for manual I would guess. Probably higher than M4 buyers.

Bingo, this is exactly what is happening with me (except I'm not really a younger folk anymore). I initially considered getting a GT3 but decided to hold off for the GT4 because of the manual transmission. At this point, the only car I would think about trading in or selling my GT4 for would be a manual box GT3. Maybe that will change down the road, but not now.

I put my name down on a list today for a 991.2 GT3 hoping it comes with a clutch pedal.

This is what I will do in a year or two...
Have RS inbound...
Will shop for a GT4 next...

If AP had said that the manual would be an option on the .2 RS, I would flip now to get the manual RS...but its just a dream...

Track time- My GT3 and inbound RS, pdk all day.

Backroads-DD: my 997.1TT MT or I am planning to add a Targa 4S MT.

Problem solved.

I am one of those unsure about trading their 991.1 gt3 pdk for the next gt3. I have a manual porsche that i cannot even push to the limit.

If its not about track time, then why buy a GT car? You say i want to push the clutch, any car would do that?

Agree with buff2001

PDK-S for this and future GT3s on the track and some other roads.

Manual in my 997.2 C2S cabriolet for everything else.

Best of both worlds.

That is the million dollar question. Wild fire spreaded too far, we dont even know where it came from.

Anybody want to make a bet if the next GT3 would be offered as a manual. Me i dont think so. Ill bet a case of San Miguel beer from the philippines if its true!

Who cares of a manual GT3
GT3 is for occasional or heavy tracking
to beat your friends in a M4 etc.
this is why has a PDKS AND a Wing

For tourists there s always a C2/4S Manual
more than enough for B-roads
