BMW M4 GTS

Sorry, but those pictures just solidify how awful that thing looks. Start with a boring looking sedan, slap on an overdone splitter that looks like it came from a Viper ACR, a rear wing from the FNF catalog, and possibly the worst looking clown wheels ever put on a car by a high end manufacturer. That thing is just epically ugly.

Tell us how you really feel
I think it's better looking than the GT4, should be here in a few months - then we'll see if it drives better.

At least that's what the nice gentlemen informed me at the LA Auto Show ...

Whilst it's true that BMs have gotten fatter and less visceral than they used to be, the same could be said for Porsche. It's just that BMW started from a lower base.
I actually think it's a more profitable path for them to take (so not really losing their way, maybe selling out is a better analogy).
In any case it's a shame for real driving enthusiasts as diminished competition and diminished choice for drivers cars mean we end up with lesser cars.

I have an allocation, just not sure I will take it. I'll need to see it in person. But I must say, that while I get that this is a P car forum, and I am not sure of the styling either, saying that this is a "crap" car or "lesser" car is bit over the top.
It has excellent technology and is probably reasonable reliable. I'm sure it's a lot less expensive to maintain my CGT and, apparently, is just as fast around a track - and certainly much faster than I would be willing/able to drive either one.
I for one, am glad they keep making all these great cars. It takes the sting out of not being able to buy any particular one because they are limited.
Just my 0.02

I feel that I made a mistake by putting this subject in the Porsche forum. There were many non porsche car was presented in this forum before but this is the most negative review that I have ever seen on these forum.
I think some of these reviews are over the top, is it rivalry with BMW ?
I own two M3's, E46 and E92. I moved away from newer m3 and own GT4, 2015 TT and cayenne. I am keeping my mind open and waiting for review to come out. BMW is a great car company, they proved that in the past and I believe they can do it again if they wish. This M4 GTS is two years in making with wonderful new technologies.

It doesn't matter it's a Porsche forum, many cars that are not Porsche have been discussed here without bias. I don't think anyone is dissing the technology going in this car or its potential. The fact remains, that in my eyes at least,it's butt ugly ricer bolt on wing, that's all... But it's just an opinion,of course...opinions are like a-holes...everyone has one...

Why does everyone assume cricism on this site always emanates from jealousy or competitiveness rather than simply unbiased opinion and critique. I've owned 3 BMWs including an M3, and can honestly say, my opinion is that this car looks like something a drift team would drive in a Shriner's parade, and when they stopped, 10 clowns would pile out.
BMW has been making ugly busy cars for a while now, but this is off the charts. It looks like a bad tuning shop did an M3 for SEMA.
