I'll say it again : how could someone working for a serious car manufacturer throw that wing on and think it looks good?! It is mind blowing to me! It looks like a couple of ricers met in the backyard and decided to drill a few holes in the trunk to place a wing made out of the ironing board.

Something has gone missing with the modern M cars. They just don't look right in proportion any
more.
That car looks terrible in my eyes. Front lip and rear wing looks like it's taken from another car and just thrown on.
The M2 is a great size car but looks out of proportion. Just something about the hight and bulkiness that is off.
I would much rather buy a e39 than a new m2.

2 of my friends are getting GTS this may/june. only 50 in Canada.
the color scheme and wing just look soo WEIRD!
but anyway....can anyone answer how BMW got that half cage to be OEM option? and LEGAL? but not GT3 clubsport package?
Btw, GTS also comes with fire extinguisher....

Would never consider this car but am seriously looking at an M2 to sit alongside my GT3 as a fun daily driver. It smells like a very good car for the money. I will know for sure once I get to test drive one in a few weeks time.

M2 best of the current crop IMO. But I agree proportions are off and it's too heavy. I've been very disappointed with the new M3 after taking once for a drive.
A daily driver for me needs 4 doors. The front seats need to be comfortable and it must have performance on tap. I already own 2 X 911 coupes with half cages and buckets!
I owned my e39 M5 twice it was that good. What a brilliant car. I'd happily own one again but most are high mileage now and a bit ropy.
It's sad but the M cars I lust after are the e46 & e90 series. They lost me after that.
The new 911S turned up at my dealer yesterday (launch model). Very interesting. Looks pretty good in the flesh - better than the pictures...

I am not convinced that super-powered limited editions are the way to get the M mojo back. I was an easy, easy prospect for lifetime purchases of M-branded products, but they totally lost me around 2012. I have a friend who is getting an M2, and maybe it will return the M sub-brand to its historic ethos, but I'm not holding my breath. The GTS is sure to be technically good, but it doesn't "feel" to me like something I would want instead of or as well as what I have. I'd rather get an RS or save for a 675.

I won't argue against it along the subjective front because that's what people do when they run out of original ideas.
It's a de-porking effort in the parts bin gym that some M4 owners will pay exorbitant amounts of money to make a lookalike. Aftermarket vendors like vorsteiner will swoop in to replicate doodads to make it somewhat affordable a la E46 CSL.
Problem is, the engine and drivetrain aren't special. It doesn't sound or feel anything close to the 991 GT3. That's the problem. Yet they jack it up to near GT3 level price-wise. Unless you're an M fangirl, there's no way it's a better drive. No way. Yet your typical youtube UK reviews will love it because they kind of have to pander to the latest and greatest thing to keep everyone relevant.
The only thing that does catch my eye are the OLED lights after BMW screwed over all M4 owners by still using incandescent brake bulbs on a $70K car. Porsche, get on-board.

Performance aside, that thing looks like it was styled by the Japanese incarnation of Chris Bangle. I'm guessing we'll be seeing this car in Fast and Furious 8...

I own a E39 M5 and a E30 M3 and have to agree that new M cars are all garbage driving machines like Lexus.
BMW has lost their magic and I think the M2 is going to be no better than the current M4 as its too heavy and underpowered.
