Ah. Yes they need a good run through 5th gear. The power difference at low speed is not as noticeable as at high speed. On the dyno the difference in acceleration up to 80 mph was only half a second or so but 80-150 was almost 1.5 seconds faster.

cool vid!

Need a vid of the following.

2nd gear from 50mph up to top of 4th. That's 2-3-4th gears and 50-130 or so. That will give a better idea on the HP gains.

I would say that the pull in the second gear was the most even start.

The cars pull almost exactly at the same pace.

Not a bad video. Ideally a longer run would be good but understand on public roads that isn't easy to pull off. Now if Dundon Motorports would rent a track or get a closed road for these guys then some true test runs could be performed. I'm on the fence with these but if I saw a good showing of real world performance not dyno runs, I probably pull the trigger.

Please no offence but after all the hype that was very disappointing to say the least. The reaction time of the guy in white car is laughable. Couldn't you find a better stretch of road? The only race worth anything was the one that was dead even. Like I offered up earlier, although no one responded, I will ship my $700 Vbox performance box to him so that we can get some real data. So Matt are you interested?

Yeah I did after going frame by frame. Very close to disaster. Those streets are WAY too busy to do something like that imo. Hopefully I will be practicing what I am preaching...in...oh...27 hours, give or take.

Thank you Matt for trying to get some video of the cars running against one another.

As Charles said, up to about 80mph the difference is about 0.6sec. Take into account human variation, etc... and we're not going to see anything dramatic.

And thus begins the slippery slope and why dyno's are used in the first place. Street racing is dangerous and illegal... I'll get to a track day here in a few weeks, the weather is starting to cooperate a little bit up here. I too have a vbox and can use it on the track.

The front straight on The Ridge should allow a 2-3-4 pull up to 130-140mph without issues.

Before everyone gets all bent out of shape let me explain this video. My buddy and I were heading out to a remote spot out of town to do a few rolls, but I had no intention of running to triple digits. This area opened up on our way out of town, so we made a few failed attempts just messing around. Then we saw the Policia and both decided that since we didn't get busted, to not press out luck. I still put the video up, although it doesn't tell us anything. I'm the goof in the white car with the terrible reaction time. Racing is not my thing, so naturally I suck at doing it. I will have more definitive actual race footage when we go to the Smokies in April at the airstrip.

Just wait a month, and we'll line them up at Heaven's Landing.

Thanks Matt. We appreciate the time, effort and expense you go through for the benefit of the community. Not trying to rag on you, but I just don't want to see you get busted doing this.
