Also, because they did not vet people financially as part of this process, my bet is that many of those chosen on the strength of their social media credentials -- those that don't have a long track record of buying and keeping Ford vehicles -- will not ultimately turn into purchasers of a $450,000 car for which no bank financing or leasing will likely be available or feasible.
I agree Ford might be in for a rude awakening with some of their chosen buyers not being able to afford them (IMO the application should have required a 10% deposit, refundable if not chosen). However, why do you think financing wouldn't be available or feasible on this car? I routinely see finance offers at exotic car dealers up to 120 months. when there's a will, there's a way, it seems.

I'm sure Woodside would be happy to finance, and I'd bet that they will on multiple occasions.

Curious to see the parameters for purchase eligibility. Will owners have to hold for a while - or just pump and dump like every other car?

I'm in! So incredibly excited at being so lucky. A new playmate for my GT3 RS.

Interesting!

Yeah, I wasn't even waitlisted. Oh well. I've never purchased a new Ford in my life, this would've changed that trend. But, eh, that's likely why I didn't get one.

silver lining? makes purchasing a 991 RS at $20k over MSRP a no-brainer now :-)

Those who got an allocation (except for the extremely public ones that posted on YouTube), what's your stable look like? Do you have extensive Ford history?

I'm just curious what Ford may have used as criteria, as I'm hearing from a lot of friends who were overqualified (i.e., own the GT500, GT350, a Ford GT) and didn't get one.

As I've said many times it doesn't matter what fancy dog and pony show they conceive to allocate limited production cars, at end of day the equation has same answer..... low production + high demand = Upset potential customers left behind

Even if they put $100k down and get 6% financing for 10 years that is a $4,100 a month payment......there won"t be many you tubers being able to swing that

Say that to Captainsparklez (the Minecraft youtuber with 10 millions subs that got one) who made enough $$$ to buy a 4M$ house in Beverly Hills.
