I love the NFGT. But...began wondering whether its worth the $500K outlay for a car that will likely not see the track, just see occassional C&C and by the time I would get one there will likely be other new and upcoming supercars (including the new GT2RS, new ZR1 or Zora Vette) that will suck the NFGTs doors off. Not to mention the $10K+ annual insurance costs I was quoted to insure it.

I think my RS and Gen II FGT are cool enough.

Did you get waitlisted or 'deferred', Waxer? Hope to have an RS (7.2) soon to salve my wounds.

Deferred. The way I look at things is everything happens for the best. Reality is for me I already have a lot of $ tied up in cars that I only drive part time as it is.

The Ford GT is the perfect car to go golfing, I have yet to find another supercar that has 2 build in slots for golf bags.

Haha

Real conversation I had with ford engineers and development team:

"Fat guys will not fit in the car"
"Race manners, not a cruiser, suspension is very much race focused"
"Anyone 6-3 to 6-4 will be in trouble with a helmet"
"This car is 100% meant to do lap times"

Did you ask them about turbo lag? That will be the hard nut to crack given the level of boost they are planning to have.

It is quite the eye catcher. Likely terrific on the track but no where practical as street car as the Porsche GT cars.

Interesting to see how the first tests will go.

It's going for Carrera GT not Bentley GT.

Haha. Yes. Understand that. Carrera GT is yesterdays news. 991GT3RS out runs the Carrera GT. Would think it's targeting 918 and 675LT.

I just mean the ethos of the car is to be uncut raw etc for the track. Can't name names but was told by my ford engineer that it will be extremely track oriented and not as soft and compliant on the road as the previous car. They want to break lap records.

I was at Pebble as well as that Ford GT looked stunning! Still a little bummed they did not go with the Flat Plane V-8 with boost but it will still be a sweet car!

Does your engineers' first name start with an R and last name start with an N?
