We've been hearing this since the 991 GT3 was first announced and respectfully, I think it's baloney. I know a lot of GT3 owners and have never met a single one who not only couldn't drive a manual, but didn't have years of experience with them.

Although Mike is right, the majority CAN drive a manual, they have become too lazy to do so. It's the same reason Porsche has been continuously softening their GT cars. In the end it's all about money and attracting new customers. They have succeeded! The thought of having a faster more comfortable car, with less chances of making a mistake(over revving the engine),tolerable in all environments(including stuck in traffic) has drawn all kinds of customers that have never considered a Porsche GT before.

I personally know of 7 or 8 991 gt3 owners that can't drive a stick and the 4 of them it was their first Porsche. SO not happy that all these rs prices are driven up in price because not enthusiast with to much extra money can get one before I can. Much rather have seen a 991 gt3 rs in manual. ALL OF THE POSER WOULD BE HIDING WITH 991 gts XD . IMO 991 gt3 has no business being a pdk. **** porsche. I went to a meet in malibu a year or so ago. And some of these guys had no business with a gt3 .

driftking is a combination of things that make the speciale much better than the 458. including all Slide slip control. the car is amazing. a brand new 458 is near 300. my speciale was 380k not double. most speciale are closer to 360 or less. id be more angry about how rs are 150k over sticker. i got my speciale for 10k over LOL. The body kit on he speciale is very different than the 458. Its basically a 458 gt3. active and passive aero. Also its likely to be the last NA v8 F car...

If Nick and gt2urbo are to be believed all of you lazy, non-enthusiast, poser GT3/RS owners out there should be ashamed of yourselves!

Exactly, Im one of them.
Better everywhere, in my case also more fun everywhere, except maybe mountain or canyon roads but we don't have those here..

In my case the fun of a slower manual is better experienced in a throw away GT4 with warranty or real driving challenge is a Hot Rod 964.

At these prices I don't know where to place the 997 GT3, I'd rather build something cool myself.

Thanks Mike. I'd rather not be associated with gt2turbo,I have seen some of his posts.
Perhaps you should go back and read my post and understand my point. We all know what has happened, but only a few have the courage to speak up without being " shot down " by the majority.

That's kind of hilarious.

Think about it though. I'm 38 and still didn't know how to drive a stick til I bought an s2000 at age 28. I basically drove stick for the first time on I-285 in ATL. Talk about white knuckles...

Point is - I can see how this could happen nowadays.

It does happen, and it certainly more common here in LA, land of the poseur.

The percentage of GT3 owners in the US that know how to drive stick has to be double whatever the percentage is in LA.

Thanks. I wonder how many RL terms of service were violated in the last dozen or so posts.
