Viper looks like a beast. I probably know the answer to this, but how is that Viper like driving it in the street? Is the transmission a chore? Too rough compared to Porsche GT cars? Rubbing everywhere?

it's for sure less refined but the clutch pedal is long and light and the shifting is fairly springy. it's just like a 993TT in terms of gearbox/clutch. the tires don't rub or anything- the only issue is the spring rates- on the ACR I think it has 600lbs up front and 1000 in rear which is really stiff. No idea on the TA or other models but they're probably softer/ more compliant.

so, if someone forced me to spend 325k on car purchases right now:
150k 991GT3
130k ACR track beater.
45k left over!! tire budget. truck/tools budget!!!
or,
150k-225k 997RS keeper
100kGT4 Cayman Track beater
or 997RS and ACR.
I would not personally go anywhere near a 991RS for 300k. 200k?? I'm all over it. I think 240k would be my ceiling based on the fact that the car is just not as fun to drive as the previous Generation...

Given your thoughts on the 991 RS, could you elaborate on why the 991 GT3 made the cut, above?

if I were to compare the P1 to cars it would be like the hyper 5 video except I actually know facts about the cars.

my biggest gripe with the pdk is the size of the paddles. they're the same ones that come on a DSG VW Gti. I like a little taller paddle so I can flick it with my pinky mid drift...lol

Not going to fit in a viper.
So I'm doing ok at MSRP 195RS, 95GT4, 100RSA hot rod I guess, can't count money pit '83 CS race car but E class PCA is so much fun..
Not that I have much except cars but I have everything I ever dreamt of this side of a private intercontinental jet, and that's so far off the extra effort / risk just doesnt seem worth it to trade track time for work time. More track time it is

C. J. - You review was an excellent. I would be interested in you top (5-7) cars for street driving. I do not track but enjoy spirited weekend drives. I love my GT3 and enjoy it on the street although most love to post a waste of money not to be able to exploit her. But- I love the rawness, sound, and NA engine. I have owned a 997.2 Turbo, and R8 V10 and certainly prefer the GT3 for my intended use.( I can not help but eye the new Lambo 580-2 but will wait for the next NA Manual that intrigues me - hoping that may be the 991.2 GT3)

CJ Thanks for the write up. Everything you say about the ACR is true. It is an incredible street legal track car. Street manners are fine at the softest shock setting even with pretty stiff springs - 600/1300. It's today's best possible choice for those that want a fast, rugged, drive it hard experience. No frills. Best, Allan
