Liftmaster 8500 jack shaft opener. Almost silent. I did one door so far but will do the other 2 when I finish the other side this Fall. Even though not putting a lift near the doors it is still a better choice as the 8500 eliminates the center track and makes a cleaner installation. My bays are 2+ cars deep, but I may put one lift close to the door. That way I can put a car deep in and one on a lift. Can choose either car without moving the other.

Since lifts have come up, does anyone have the Voyager lift made by Challenger? It seems to be an alternative to the Bendpak. The only reason I'm considering this other lift is because it doesn't require an air compressor and the wide model is about 10" wider than Bendpaks widest model. I have plenty of width and height so I figured I would go with a wide lift to keep ingress and egress easier.

thanks

jeff

You guys are terrible influences, and i cant thank you enough for that. I was content keeping cars in the corner of one of our warehouse for years, but after this thread...

I have the epoxy, insulation/hvac, cabinet and garage door guys all coming next week for quotes.

And now, the last few posts about lifts and ceiling heights... I have 14' ceilings, so why not throw a lift (or two, or three?) into the equation, too. Im sure my wife will be thrilled, but at least she is also into cars.

Let me get all of the sub-contractors in a row and ill post some before / afters once we get started...

Nothing crazy, but it works. I'm on a bit of land so I'll be building a shop next.

Found out that the garage ceiling is only 9ft. Now I gotta bring in a structural engineer to see if I can even lift the ceiling.

Great looking set up, nice and clean. And your cars choices aren't bad either.

It's photos like these that make me want to work harder. Evidently, much harder. LOL.

The 1-10 scale goes from "street parking" to "anonymous918"... So anything between those is defined as "nothing crazy"
