I live in OC and have a 4 post lift that survived a 4.5-5.0 with a car on top and underneath. Always freaks me out, but I recall when looking at lifts they showed a forklift yanking a leg out and the lift stayed up. No guarantees, but seems to be OK.

Had more damage from stuff falling off shelves on cars than cars falling.

Ps my lift is not bolted down, it can move around not sure if that is better or worse for a quake.

I think you're making a wee bit big assumption there...

Here are some pictures of my garage after the renovation. The garage was a real mess when I started, with exposed concrete showing, lots of holes in walls, and a really weird ceiling that I had to correct. I also built a hidden storage area (you can see it partially behind the cabinets), so "stuff" doesn't clutter the look. The cabinets are NewAge (experience was a complete disaster), the flooring is Race Deck (awesome experience), and the other vehicle is a 2016 550i, which is really nice and super quick. The total project took around 6 weeks, but I am really happy with how it came out overall.

Very nice. Two questions.

How do you keep the slots in the RaceDeck from gathering dirt. Vaccuum it up once in a while? Debating flat versus slotted.

Why was the New Age cabinet experience a disaster? I'm looking for some cabinets just like those.

The RD gets dirty but i mop the top periodically, and then will shopvac the stuff underneath once a season or so.

The New Age cabinets were a real mess. Twice they sent me damaged cabinets, the color was off on some of them, and a bunch of other hassles made a big project just that much more challenging. Look elsewhere is my advice. Those people have no idea what they are doing.
