My track car is a MNR Vortx R1 similar style of car to a Caterham 7 ,but made by a different manufacturer ultra light weight 365kg with 180 HP Yamaha R1 power plant ..

Any updated recommendations on led garage lighting for a 9' ceiling?

It looked like Big *** Lights were a good way to go, but it appears as though they stopped making them.

Big *** Lights are a thing of the past... i just learned the same thing. Went with a standard LED setup, there are plenty commercial options.
