If you fit in it, this is an alternative.
No waiting in line..
Track worthy..
Manual..
Brown alcantara available..
Ceramic brakes, dry sump..
Priced like disposable..

Just don't go to the dealer. Have them bring car and paperwork.

The issue, all 918 owners will take the allocation (of course), half won't keep the car or allocation.

The reality of the the situation. Just noting it.

I'd rather have skepticism rather than salivation over anything that Porsche puts a badge on. A critical group makes for good conversation and idea generation.
It's great to see converts who are happy about the resultant car. And I am all for intelligent criticism to parry back and forth, but there was so much crazy arsed venom directed at a car that had not even been released yet. And now it seems that some of the converts are directing their venom at PCNA because they can't get one.

I would like the opportunity to buy one too but I know won't. That's why it is a limited edition. And that's why I just go, "c'est la vie", and don't accuse Porsche of BS. It's just not worth getting that angry over it.

They like the car, they want to buy the car, they've worked hard to have the money to buy the car, should Porsche not be willing to add $$ to their balance sheet and sell another car??

In my line of work, I don't turn away sales and profits. As capitalists, sometimes these things make no sense to many.

Can you blame the critics sometimes?? You have to see things from both perspectives.

Every 918 owner I know tracks their cars. Pretty common at my local track to see 918s running around.

I saw more 918s being beaten on last year than 991 GT3s..

I know that there are 918 owners who are purists, the guy who I bought my GT4 from has tracked his 918 several times and has over 5k miles on it. That's the except to the rules. If you look on Ebay or autotrader you'll see all the deliver mileage RS cars that are being flipped (obviously those are all 918 owner cars for the most part). I said it once and I'll say it again, I never knew it'd be so hard to buy a $200k car when I have the money to pay for it.

You will see many dealer/918 owner flips....I bet the first 991 R on Ebay will have a $4XX,XXX price tag.

Called my dealer and told him to give it to the next guy on the list. Was hoping it had a ducktail. If I'm spending 180k on a porsche it better have a wing on it.

The want for this is not as strong as a GT3 or GT3 RS.

Here on the west coast, I haven't seen one 918 on the track. I've seen a total of 1 991RSs on the track.

No it's not . wtdoom has it right.

Why does this 'enthusiast' nonsense continue to perpetuate on sites like this? Stereotypes driven by jealousy. Nothing more.

So because they don't track their expensive super car, they're not an enthusiast USC? How do you know the guy passing you in a spec Miata isn't simply driving his track day car, and his RS is at home?

So motorcyclists are not enthusiasts if they don't track their bikes? Hmmm, poor Charlie Boorman must be sad to hear that....
