Lol!! I'm not to far behind you with a 2013 build sporting a 2016 engine...

I think I'll add the Dunson exhaust for 40 bhp and 30 lbft, that should give me a year more of 9000 rpm fun and keep the competition at bay, especially if they release a N1 MPSC2 or some other option....

Thanks for the clarification.

I don't understand the price though. Porsche could ask $210,000 for this limited model and they would still sell easily.

Dammit,it's impossible for this thing to have a manual! The Kool-Aid drinkers have told me this engine spins too fast for a manual! I'm confused.

Actually,I'm not : " Porsche-Reengineered again ".

I see a 50th edition with RS motor, brakes, suspension, RWS, roof and hood. The diffuser is unique. Or a GT3 with diffuser instead of wing, 4.0 and a manual.
Beautiful car, very normal sleek 911 sport package looking.

But no air intake for engine, not sides and not top decklid.
GT3's need lots of air to make power, but this makes same without? Possible?

Like others said, stick the drive train in the next GT3 and you get more basic, manual lighter, cheaper, faster GT3. Add in the mechanical LSD, 5 lug 19" and we're finally where we want to be. The market would flood with used GT4's.

Besides the price I don't understand how only the diffuser can keep the rear down? Or does it have a C2 rear lift up spoiler? How much does that add in weight?

I'm trying to figure out if you're joking or being serious...?!
If you're being serious, you haven't spent enough time on this forum,I suppose...
Many have said that...the majority? And I quote : " PDK-S fits this engine perfectly. Everything is happening so fast. The engine spins too fast for a human being to be able to shift... etc ". Should I go on?

Oh I forgot : let me quote the classics : AP-" we are a small department at Porsche,we simply can't build 2 transmissions. It would be too costly. The PDK-S fits the character of this engine ".

BS BS BS...

Porsche, AP, everyone in the magazines, everyone parroting on this forum... But now we know they lied to us. Question is how the short ratio gearbox will work.. Match a fast high revving engine to a short stack and you're shifting furiously and precisely. This car will be very entertaining/demanding to drive

I have been trying to keep up here...but is the 991.2 GT3 and now this 911R not going to come in a MT? I was told only the GT3 would have a MT option on the .2, not the RS. So if the 4.0 requires the PDK-S, then won't the 911R? Or re-engineered like you said

Thanks for the clarification...I am on here all the time and learn something new each thread. Thanks again

Can't wait to read up on the marketing spin to explain why GT3 with 4.0 manual and diffuser is more $ than RS. If it slots nicely between the 135 and 175 at $155, I can see why some would really like a manual 4.0.

BGB will build you a nice 4.0 manual GT4 for a sub GT3 price and that's truly light weight..

The 911R will only come with a custom short-ratio 6-speed MT (as you can see in the leaked official photos posted a few pages back). Porsche officials including Andreas Preuninger were quoted saying the 4.0 is too much for a human to shift precisely, so with this debut we're supposing they either lied or caved to the customers who demanded an MT GT3. We're guessing that this is prologue to the .2 GT3 which could be available with both the same MT and PDK.
