Hey Eduardo, I was reading an article on Eugénio Amos and at a part of the article he mentioned that the color he painted his 997 gt2 rs (british racing green with a number) was a color reserved for the Pietch (?) family. Do you have a catalog of colors and their names, reserved for them? And if you had the type of leather and colors too (i recall a sort of miami blue 991.2 gt3 with a beautiful brown interior) it would be ace to have as a reference guide.

I don’t think it was Miami. I think it was Riviera Blue.

Lizard will be the “chalk” of the .2 RS. Most cars will be Lizard. But I love it! Finally they are offering a green without having to go PTS (if they even offer PTS). Hoping for an allocation and I have it spec’d out with Weissach.

Sorry to say but Amos is taking a lot of liberties with that
story. I don't believe it's true.

Here is the article:

Here is what I know about these greens:

Daniel:

'British Racing Green', as most of you know, is the official racing color
of Britain. It dates back to the early days of the 20th Century, the
Gordon Bennet Cup, Count Eliot Zborowski, etc. Because the red, white
& blue of the Union Jack were already taken (by the US, Germany &
France), Britain chose 'Green' because Ireland (fully part of the United
Kingdom then) was host to the 1903 Bennet Cup race! It started out
as a Shamrock green hue...but has since evolved into the darker green
identified today as 'British Racing Green'.

A version of 'BRG' (color code 21D) has been approved for PTS at PAG.
Personally, I see no reason for a Porsche to be painted 'BRG', but that
is just my very biased view! But I do happen to love it on Bentleys,
Astons & other English cars!

****

'Brewster Green' was a newly formulated color for the 991 Club Coupe Limited Edition of 2012:

It was supposed to be similar to a PTS color chosen by Wolfgang Porsche
for his 993 911 Turbo S....

http://www.9magazine.com/why-was-bre...ed-club-coupe/

But I have seen that 993 & I don't believe it's the same color!

Nevertheless, 'Brewster Green' has been available for a number of
years now as PTS (color code 22B) & it's a very elegant & beautiful
color!

***

'Irish Green' was first used by Porsche in the C model 356s in
MY1964 & MY1965. It was a very popular color in those years.

It was a color carried over into the early 911's when these started
production. And it was continued for many years in that vintage
period!

'Irish Green' is currently available as PTS (color code Y79) at PAG.

It may look like this (not confirmed) on a 991:

***

All of these colors are solid/uni (non-metallic).

Here is the .2 991 gt3 that was attributed ownership to the Piëch seen in Austria:

It's not 'Miami Blue'. And yes, that interior to my knowledge
has been requested by many .2 991 gt3 customers & has
not been yet approved for anyone we know here at Rennlist.
So Porsche family membership, like the American Express
card of a certain color, perhaps does give you some exclusive
priviledges.

Default and finally...?

After having my original build pushed out:

and my resulting European Delivery date cancelled!!!

I now have my new ED date (courtesy the amazing Jamie Dillon )

So I'm picking the car up on Thursday 8/2!!!

Although ominously Jamie did say:

"This is unfortunately still dependent on when the paint for your order arrives at the factory, but I am being told that the current production schedule is accurate and reliable for planning around..."

fingers crossed... now booking various trackdays at the Ring and Spa!!!

Congratulations!!! Glad you're getting ED! And Jamie was super helpful to me too with my .1, especially with the whole engine fiasco going on at the time.

There's no way anyone could guess which green is green from a photograph here. Or am I simply "green-blind." Though I think I could pick Viper Green out of a line-up just because it appears darker here.

I went with Pure Green to try something different. Not many real world pics, though I did manage to find these. Can look different here depending on lighting and cameras:

Hi,

I'm looking at pics of Forest Green and Brewster Green and they look almost identical to me.

Has anyone seen them side by side in real life, either on cars or on the paint sample swatches, that can explain the subtle differences?

Thanks.

Forest:

This might help. I took it at PEC in ATL.

Forest has a flake...

Brewster is more flat
