Reference Guide to PTS
#3662
Nope, I got paint correction, clear bra, and ceramic coating done at the dealer since I'm busy as hell (audit season) so I wouldn't have time to drive it anyhow. I'm flying out next Saturday to see the car and drive it before it comes out West.

Never mind...
For the record, this is Rennlister djcxxx's .2 991 gt3:
David has (or had) a .2 991 in PTS 'Birch Green / Lichtgrün' & the 'RS Orange' Limited Edition' Boxster
you see in his Florida garage.
He also tried to get 'Tangerine/Blutorange' approved for PTS & was denied. So he is one of our most
experienced of PTS owners! Congratulations David on your stunningly beautiful (new) 'Lindgrün' gt3!

'Lizard Green'...
Some of you might have noticed a new 'Special Color' introduced
on the newly announced .2 991 gt3 RS. It's only an additional
$4,220. And you don't have to deal with the 'drama' & 'suspense'
surrounding PTS, when/if they offer that. It looks to me to be a
solid/uni color but we will need to confirm that.
If history is a guide, 'Lizard Green' will be included as an approved PTS color in
a few years at PAG. But for the present, it's an 'exclusive' to the .2 991 gt3 RS!
Undoubtedly PAG has seen the increased interest in the PTS 'greens' that are
being ordered in record numbers for the .2 991 gt3. These not only include 'Signal
Green' & 'Viper', perennial favorites, but also the more 'yellow-green' vintage/historic
hues which include 'Gelbgrün/Lime Green'. 'Chartreuse/Lindgrün', 'Birch/Lichtgrün',
'Willow' & 'Olive'. 'Lava Orange' & 'Miami Blue' are now in the general Porsche
models color offerings. Clearly PAG is trying to give us their customers some bright
colors that normally would only be available to us via PTS. Yet, as 'special' colors
available on demand, they don't carry the cost & drama now associated with PTS.
'Lizard Green' is a welcome addition to Porsche's color palette. I predict will prove
to be a memorable & highly popular color. And it will take it's place of honor in the
pantheon of historic colors that will be talked about in future years. So just as the
RS model recently gave us the beautiful 'RS Orange' (.1 997) & 'Ultraviolet' (.1 991),
this new 'Lizard Green' will be one for the ages!

A tiny sidestory on this new color from Topgear:
https://www.topgear.com/car-news/gen...che-911-gt3-rs
The launch colour of the GT3 RS is the result of GT car boss, Andreas Preuninger, seeing a similarly coloured vintage RS at Rennsport Reunion in the USA a few years ago. Apparently the production team asked if he was crazy, but Porsche has form introducing, or re-evoking, classic colours with the RS - notably Lava Orange and Ultra Violet with the last 911 GT3 RS car.
